Simplilearn survey 2020: Online learning is simply great

Simplilearn survey revealed that online learning is gaining acceptance. Simplilearn is a company into providing digital skills training and the survey it undertook recently pointed that about 82 percent respondents find Live online learning programes are more effective.
Simplilearn-survey found that the respondents find online learning more effective than the physical classroom sessions.


That is not all about the findings. Simplilearn survey also found that about 40 percent of the enterprises were planning to permanently shift to online employee skilling programmes.
COVID-19 outbreak began more than three months ago and the companies have asked their employees to shift to work-from-home.
Simplilearn took up a survey on the effects of COVID-19 pandemic on employee training programmes and productivity post implementation of work-from-home policy.

Simplilearn survey involved executives and managers in the learning and development and human resources functions of companies around the globe on issues related to current and future employee training plans.
The present findings were based on the results obtained from the survey. Simplilearn survey got responses from various regions of the globe, majority of them were gathered representatives of companies located in India (39%) and United States (41%).

Simplilearn survey further found that 86 percent of respondents whose companies offered physical classroom training have moved to live online learning platforms since the start of the pandemic.
COVID-19 has brought a change in the work patterns across the globe and employee learning and development was also not an exemption.

Simplilearn survey showed 82 percent respondents stated that online learning programmes were more effective than physical classrooms.

The demand is more for skilling programmes related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
Speaking about the Simplilearn survey, Krishna Kumar, CEO and Founder of Simplilearn said the current global pandemic has posed several new challenges to organisations and businesses across verticals, pushing for the need to embrace digital solutions.
Based on our survey results, remote working seems to be the norm for the future, with 52percent respondents saying that work from home saw employees being more productive and 77% of respondents predicting that their organizations are considering a permanent shift to work from home.
This is a clear indicator that live or blended online learning programs will be the answer to skilling and learning continuity for working professionals.
The pandemic and economic slowdown have also brought in the need for organizations and professionals to focus more on building capabilities in niche skills that would become inevitable for business continuity and sustenance, he said.

The other key findings of Simplilearn survey is that 76 percent of respondents said owing to switch to digital business environments they expect their companies to enhance their skills through skill development programmes.
The Simplilearn survey also found that eight percent of the respondents said budgets allotted for skill training programmes before and during the pandemic had gone up, while 34 percent said budgets had decreased and 58 percent said they were the same.
Even work-from-home concept seems to be getting a bigger impetus. About 77 percent respondents in Simplilearn survey said their organizations are now considering permanent expansion of work-from-home felixibility for their employees.
Also about 73 percent of the respondents of Simplilearn survey said employees have been as productive or more productive while working from home compared to before the pandemic.

Simplilearn survey also found out that Functional training prioritized as a result of the pandemic includes Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (44%), Digital Marketing (42%), Cloud Computing (42%), and Cyber Security (40%).
The overall Simplilearn survey findings indicate that he pandemic has increased the importance and demand for digital skills training.
Furthermore, it has made it imperative for companies to find ways to deliver skills training online with live online classes that exceed the effectiveness of physical classrooms.
