Rajalakshmi Engineering College REC celebrates 19th graduation day
Rajalakshmi Engineering College (REC) at Thandalam near Chennai turned centre of attraction today as it celebrated its 19thgraduation day on Saturday (14 March). The affair was conducted in a grand manner with eminent personalities pouring in a word of advise for the students. Governor of Tamilnadu Banwarilal Purohit was the chief guest and over 1295 graduates received their degrees during the convocation amidst thunderous applauds.
Banwarilal Purohit said students are the architects of new India which is fast emerging. You will be shouldering the responsibility of taking this great nation towards glory. Even as you move towards achieving success in life remember to stay firm to principles laid down by your parents, teachers and forefathers.
He said students must derive inspiration from great personalities, they will show you the way. ‘Work and succeed with integrity,’ was the saying of former President of India Dr A P J Abdul Kalam. Get inspired from visionary leaders like him, said Governor.
Rajalakshmi Engineering College is in tune with latest trends in the field of higher education, said Governor. I am confident that the college will soon start new streams in engineering which will be in accordance with the changing times. Thangam Meganathan, chairperson, Rajalakshmi Engineering College said their educational institution was taking all steps to ensure students avail quality learning at all times.

Chandramohan, Group president (finance and investment strategy), TAFE Ltd who was guest of honour said as students get ready to begin another phase in life, they must remember that learning is a constant process in life. Learning sustains growth, should that stop, progress in life comes to a standstill. Rajalakshmi Engineering College principal S.N. Murugesan said during the placement season about 950 students got job offers from more than 200 reputed companies. About 484 papers were published in reputed journals.
