NIT Rourkela diamond jubilee celebration commenced with an invocation song and lighting of traditional lamps by director, registrar and deans of the institute.
Special part of the NIT Rourkela diamond jubilee celebration was a video featuring the journey of the institution and its achievements.
The video also comprised messages from Governor of Odisha and Chief Minister of Odisha, Union Education Minister and notable alumni of the institution.
Governor in his message said NIT has earned global recognition and in times to come it will be an institution of great significance to international and national research and development.

DRDO keenly looks for Cryogenic and Nanomaterial subjects for in-depth research in future.
Looking at the work done by NIT Rourkela in these fields of study, DRDO will be collaborating with it in near future and work together in these areas, he said.
