NIT Rourkela diamond jubilee celebration commenced with an invocation song and lighting of traditional lamps by director, registrar and deans of the institute.

Special part of the NIT Rourkela diamond jubilee celebration was a video featuring the journey of the institution and its achievements.

The video also comprised messages from Governor of Odisha and Chief Minister of Odisha, Union Education Minister and notable alumni of the institution.

Governor in his message said NIT has earned global recognition and in times to come it will be an institution of great significance to international and national research and development.

NIT Rourkela diamond jubilee celebration became more special when an MoU was signed with Venkata Narasimham Peri, sponsor of Poverty Alleviation Research Centre (PARC).

Venkata Narasimham is also an alumnus of NIT Rourkela.

NIT Rourkela, through this MoU, aspires to make significant contribution towards poverty reduction in backward regions of Koraput, Balangir and Kalahandi in Odisha.
