7. IIT Guwahati – 7 Rank
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995.

Arjun Singh, the then Union HRD Minister laid the foundation of the permanent campus, spread over an area of around 501.42-acre (2.1 km2), on 17 February 2009 at Simrol, a location on Khandwa Road about 25 km from the city of Indore.
