NEST 2023 registration will begin on 27 February 2023. Students can visit the official website of the exam to submit applications. The last date for registration is 17 May 2023.
It is for individuals who are keen on gaining admission into the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) which is located in Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) which is located in Mumbai.
A pass in NEST 2023 is a must to get admission into integrated 5-year MSc programs in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and others. NEST 2023 will be conducted on 24 June 2023. The result of NEST 2023 is to be declared on 10 July 2023.
Individuals have to pass NEST 2023 with minimum qualifying marks also known as cutoff scores. They are the minimum marks candidates have to score in the exam to be eligible for further process.
Scores of the candidates in NEST 2023 must be either greater than the cutoff marks or equal to them to be eligible for further process. The further process likely involves counselling and document verification.
The full name is National Entrance Screening Test which is a national-level entrance test and is conducted once every year. NEST 2023 is meant to be conducted this year (2023).
NEST 2023 will be conducted online – as a computer-based test where answers have to be marked on a computer screen. The format of questions is multiple choice, where each question will have more than one option and the right one has to be chosen to get the marks.
The eligibility to apply for NEST 2023 is a pass in class 12 from a recognized educational institution located anywhere in India. The subjects in plus two must be from the science stream – maths/biology, physics and chemistry.
Candidates in the Unreserved and OBC categories must have been born on or after August 01, 2003. The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/Divyangjan candidates.
Students must have at least 60% marks in aggregate (or equivalent grade) in the Class XII examination from any recognized Board in India. For Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and for Divyangjan candidates, the minimum requirement is 55%.
Applicants who appeared or are appearing for the final exams of their qualifying degree examination and whose results are yet to be declared can also appear for NEST 2023. These students have to pass the exam and provide proof of it by the time of admission.
The process to apply for NEST 2023 is online and candidates have to visit the official website of the
exam hosted by SCERT to submit applications. The URL to reach it is ‘https://www.nestexam.in/’
The URL mentioned above has to be typed into the browser of the computer and the website has to be allowed to download. Once the web page is available in the browser, candidates must click the registration link.
Post clicking the link, candidates can provide details like their name, date of birth, and email id and create an account comprising a username and password. Once the account is ready, candidates can log in and start filling out the application form for NEST 2023.
The form has to be filled and the registration fee has to be paid and submitted. Post submission, applicants have to wait for the message indicating successful submission, once it is obtained, it can be downloaded and a printout of it has to be taken and preserved for future use.
Students have to appear for NEST 2023 on 24 July 2023 and pass it with the required qualifying marks to be eligible for the next process which involves applying for admission through the required process.
