NEET UG 2023 Registration: It is time for a great thing to start
NEET UG 2023 registration has now become the talk of the town. It is all about the entrance exam to be taken for admission into the undergraduate medical course which is popularly known to all as MBBS.
The word about NEET UG 2023 registration has been doing rounds in the student fraternity for quite some time now. The guess was that the application submission for NEET UG 2023 would begin by mid or end of February 2023.
However, things could get clear once there is an official announcement from National Testing Agency (NTA), the organization that conducts the exam. It is also time for students to get ready for NEET UG 2023 registration as the announcement in this regard could be made anytime soon.
More about the exam
The full name of the exam is National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Undergraduate. The exam is conducted offline in pen-and-paper mode and answers have to be registered on a separate answer sheet.
The questions in NEET UG 2023 would be related to biology, physics and chemistry which are taught in class 12 in recognized educational institutions across India. Questions will be in a multiple-choice format where each question has more than one reply and the right one among that has to be chosen to get marks.
Students willing to join BDS in colleges located across India also have to apply for NEET UG 2023. Medical colleges abroad also consider scores of NEET UG for providing admission into MBBS courses.
Who can take up NEET UG 2023 registration?
Candidates who have passed plus-two in the science stream with biology, physics and chemistry as subjects can apply for NEET UG 2023.
Students who have appeared for their final year exams and are waiting for the results or students who are about to appear for the final year exams of their qualifying degree can also apply. However, these students have to pass their exams and provide proof of it by the time of admission.
How to apply?
The process to undertake NEET UG 2023 registration is online. Candidates have to visit the official website of NEET UG 2023 at ‘https://neet.nta.nic.in/’ to submit applications. The URL mentioned earlier has to be typed into the browser and the webpage must be allowed to download.
Once the webpage is downloaded, candidates can read the information about the exam and then click the link for NEET UG 2023 registration and create an account comprising a username and password.
Post account creation, candidates can log in and fill out the application form, pay the registration fees and then submit the application form. The NEET UG 2023 registration fee is Rs 1700 for General category candidates.
NEET UG 2023 registration fee for General (EWS)/OBC-NCL category candidates is Rs 1600. SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender category applicants have to pay Rs 1000 as registration charges. Students willing to write NEET UG 2023 outside India have to pay Rs 9500 as registration charges.
After the exam
Candidates who have undertaken NEET UG registration can wait for the appropriate time and download the hall ticket. They must appear for the exam at the test centre chosen by them.
Students who pass NEET UG 2023 with the required qualifying marks can apply for counselling where they choose the college and course. Counselling takes place to fill seats at the All India level and state level.
Students who wish to study in central government institutions can apply under the All India Quota for which Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the counselling.
