The test for medical entrance was to take place on 1 August for this year.

Now NEET UG 2021 will be held on September 12, said Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The suspense prevailed over the date for conducting this exam for medical admission.

But that has now been answered with the announcement from newly appointed Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Minister Pradhan said NEET UG 2021 will be held on 12 September 2021 across the country following COVID-19 protocols.

The application process for NEET UG 2021 will begin from 5 pm tomorrow (13 July) through websites of NTA websites.

Union Education Minister further said the test for undergraduate medical examination will be held amidst strict adherence to social distance norms.

Cities for conducting NEET UG 2021 will be increased to 198 from 155. The number of exam centres be enhanced from the 3862 centers used in 2020.

The notification for NEET UG 2021 was released on 12 March this year and it mentioned that the exam would be conducted on 1 August.

The exam would be held in 11 languages including Hindi and English in pen and paper mode, said the notification.

And soon after the webpage downloads, they can scroll down the page and click the link ‘Fill Registration Form’ and start the registration to obtain username and password.

Post obtaining username and password, applicant can login and start applying for NEET UG 2021.

Point to remember
In order to ensure that the candidate data is submitted fast, the Application Form for NEET UG 2021 has been divided into Two Sets/Phases.

The first set of information needs to be filled up before the last date of submission of the Application Form online.

The second set of information needs to be filled up by the candidates before the declaration of the Result/downloading of Score Card during the period that would be notified
separately through NEET (UG) Portal in due course.

The exam pattern
The NEET UG 2021 shall consist of one Question Paper containing 180 Multiple Choice Questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
(Botany and Zoology).

The questions in the exam will be related to physics, chemistry, biology (botany & zoology) taught at 10th, 11th and 12th classes in recognized educational institutions across the country.

The duration of the exam is for three hours and the test will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm.

The last date to pay the fee is 11:50 pm of 7 August.

The corrections with regards to information on the application forms of NEET UG 2021 can be taken up from 8 to 12 August.

Announcement of city of examination will be done on 20 August. The hall tickets for NEET UG 2021 examination will be made available for download three days before the exam.

The exam will be conducted on 12 September 2021 which is a Sunday.

The date for display of OMR sheets, responses and answer keys to the candidates would be announced later.

The result declaration date will also be announced later on the official website.
