NBEMS cuts the NEET SS 2023 special round counselling cut-off to zero.
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has recently announced a significant development regarding the special round of counselling for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- Super Speciality NEET SS 2023. In a notification, NBEMS declared a reduction in the qualifying percentile for the special counseling round, lowering the NEET SS cut-off to zero. This groundbreaking decision implies that all candidates who appeared for the NEET SS 2023 examination are now eligible for participation in the upcoming special counselling round. The NEET SS 2023 exam took place on September 29 and September 30, 2023, with the results being declared on October 15, 2023.
The eligibility criteria for the special round specify that candidates must have completed their post-graduation as per the norms set by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and must have appeared for the NEET SS 2023 exam for the academic year 2023. Interested candidates can register for the NEET SS special round counselling through the official website of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) at mcc.nic.in. However, it is essential to note that candidature is provisional and subject to the fulfillment of eligibility criteria as outlined in the NEET-SS 2023 Information Bulletin, along with the verification of Face ID/Biometric wherever required, according to the NBEMS notice.
Candidates must be aware that there is no change in the NEET SS rank as declared on October 15, 2023. To stay updated on the latest information related to the upcoming NEET SS 2023 special round counseling, candidates are advised to regularly check the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website at mcc.nic.in. The original NEET SS 2023 cut-off was set at the 50th percentile, which has now been significantly reduced to zero. While the NEET SS counselling for the year 2023 is already in progress, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has recommended this reduction in the NEET SS cut-off to facilitate broader eligibility for candidates.
Documents Required for NEET SS 2023 Special round counseling
For those planning to participate in the NEET SS special round counseling, certain documents are required for the process. These include the certificate of permanent/provisional registration issued by the National Medical Commission/NBE/State Medical Council, a birth certificate or high school diploma for verifying the date of birth, and identification documents such as PAN card, Aadhar card, driver’s license, voter ID card, or passport.
Additionally, candidates need to have the NEET SS seat allotment letter for 2023 issued by MCC, the NEET SS admit card, the result of NEET SS 2023, the MBBS degree certificate, and the MD/MS/DNB degree certificate in the concerned specialty. This reduction in the NEET SS cut-off to zero is a noteworthy development by NBEMS, aiming to provide more opportunities for eligible candidates in the special round of counselling for NEET-SS 2023.
Aspiring candidates are encouraged to closely follow updates on the official MCC website for any further developments in the counselling process. Students need to be prepared for the counselling beforehand and be ready with all the documents required. The candidates will have to bring all the documents at the time of counseling. All the best to all the students who have already qualified for the exams and are going to be a part of the counselling process.
