NCHM JEE 2020 exam: Great students get more time to prepare
NCHM JEE 2020 exam aspirants have now additional time to prepare for the well-known exam. Needless to say, the decision of National Testing Agency (NTA) to postpone NCHM JEE 2020 exam has in a way given much needed time for the students to prepare for the exam.
According to sources the earlier planned date for conducting NCHM JEE 2020 exam was 22 June. Now it will be conducted on some other date which will be notified soon.
The decision to conduct NCHM JEE 2020 exam on another date was also taken taking into account the current situation in the country, say sources.
Union Minister for Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also mentioned this on his twitter account.
‘In view of the current situation and requests received from many candidates, I have advised @DG_NTA to postpone the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE) 2020. The new dates will be announced in due course of time’ was the message of Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
This is the second time NCHM JEE 2020 exam was postponed. The well-known test was supposed to be conducted on 25 April (Saturday). But then the COVID-19 situation led to the popular test being postponed to 22 June.
A notification of NTA dated 25 May also mentions about the exam being postponed for the first time. Again, notification by same organisation dated 7 June mentions the second postponement.
This is a development worth noting for all those students who are aspiring to gain admission into hotel management courses.
The first thing will be is to know about the NCHM JEE 2020 exam. The exam is called as National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination.
Candidates who pass the exam will gain admission into B.Sc course in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (B.Sc, HHA) in educational institutions across the country.
NCHM JEE is usually conducted in the month of April. But corona virus outbreak led to postponement of the exam.
The responsibility to conduct NCHM JEE was with National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHM and CT). This is an autonomous body under Ministry of Tourism of Government of India.
NTA took charge of conducting this exam in 2019. There are about 80 test centres across 26 test cities and about 71 colleges accept NCHM JEE 2020 exam scores.
Candidates who have passed their plus-two with a good score are eligible of NCHM JEE exam 2020. The upper age limit for the candidate from general and OBC category is 25 years as on July 1, 2020.
Candidates born on or after 1 July 1995 are eligible to apply for NCHM JEE exam 2020. The same for candidates of SC, ST categories is that their upper age limit is 28 years as on 1 July, 2020.
SC/ST candidates born on or after 1 July 1992 are eligible to apply for NCHMCT. The upper age limit for physically challenged candidates shall be reckoned as per the category he/she belongs to that is, General/SC/ST/OBC.
The number of seats with respect to NCHM JEE 2020 exam are also increasing year-over-year. The seats available for admission according to sources was 8,120 in 2017, the same stood at 8,730 in 2018.
The number of seats this year are said to have risen to 11,500. This perhaps only goes to show that prospects for candidates who are willing to make a career in the field of hotel management or hospitality sectors are bright.
The NCHM JEE 2020 exam is for 200 marks and has 200 questions in multiple choice format. The questions asked in the exam are from subjects namely numerical ability, analytical aptitude, reasoning, logical deduction, general knowledge, current affairs, english and aptitude for service sector.
The duration of NCHM JEE 2020 exam is for three hours and medium for conducting the exam is english and hindi. Candidates have to be careful, as a correct answer will give four marks and a wrong answer will lead to deduction of one mark.
