JEE Mains 2023 registration will start this week and students can commence applying for the exam once the link for that is activated on the official website hosted by National Testing Agency (NTA). NTA is the organization that will be conducting the test.
The official website for JEE Mains is ‘https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/’ soon after the notification is released, students can visit that website to start applying for JEE Mains 2023. As it is known, a pass in the exam is a must for students who wish to join the top engineering institutions for higher education.
Students passing JEE Mains 2023 will be able to get seats to study engineering in NITs, IIITs. Many colleges in the private sector also offer admission into graduate engineering programmes based on scores of JEE Mains.
Candidates who want to study in IITs have to pass JEE Mains 2023 with a score that lies within the top 2.5 lakh ranks on the national level. Test conducted by NTA will have questions related to maths, physics and chemistry of plus-two level and exam is conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT).

JEE Mains 2023 is an exam that is conducted two times a year and students who have passed plus-two from a recognised educational institution from anywhere in India can apply for it. The exam will have three papers, Paper 1, Paper 2A, Paper 2B.
Paper 1 of JEE Mains 2023 is for students focused on graudation in engineering (BE or BTech). Students keen on studying undergraduation in architecture (BArch) have to appear for Paper 2A, those who wish to study graduation in planning (BPlan) have to appear for Paper 2B.
Architecture aspirants have also to answer questions related to creativity, innovation, drawing along with that of maths, physics and chemistry. Format of questions will be multiple choice where every question has more than one reply option and the right one has to be chosen for getting marks.
Who can apply?
Students who have passed plus-two from a recognised educational institution with subjects as maths, physics and chemistry can apply for JEE Mains 2023. Even students who have appeared for the plus-two exams and are waiting for results or who are about to appear for the qualifying exam can also apply. However, these students have to pass the exam and provide proof of it by the time of admission.

Procedure to apply for JEE Mains 2023 is online and students have to visit the official website to submit applications. The url to access the official website for submitting applications is ‘https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/’
The above url has to be clicked and the webpage is to be allowed to download. Post download, candidates have to click the registration link and create an account comprising username and password. Post account creation, students have to login and then fill the form, pay the registration fees and submit the application for JEE Mains.
What after application submission?
Students have to wait for the message indicating successful submission of JEE Mains application form. Once the message is obtained, it can be downloaded and printout can be taken and preserved for future use.
Hall ticket for the JEE Mains exam will be made available for download at the appropriate time, students can visit the official website and download it. Hall ticket is a must if students are to appear for JEE Mains.
Candidates have to pass JEE Mains with the required qualifying marks which are also known as cutoff marks. Score of the candidates has to be either greater or equal to the cutoff score to become eligible for counselling which is a process where students can choose the college where they wish to study the course of their choice.
