JEE Advanced 2020: To be postponed?
JEE Advanced 2020 – JEE Advanced has now become a talk of the topic across the country. Host of well-known exams have been postponed because of coronavirus outbreak across the country.
JEE Main, NEET (UG), CBSE 10th and 12th board exams are among those, now even talks are doing rounds as to JEE Advanced also. The talk is about whether Advaced will also be conducted on a different date from its earlier planned one.
JEE Advanced 2020
Host of exams are postponed, they have to be conducted only after the existing lock-down comes to an end. Moreover, candidates have to get a good score in Main 2020 exam for them to be eligible for Advanced, he says.
Which means JEE Main is to be held first and then its applicants have to wait for its result. With the postponement of Main 2020, there is a chance that even the Advanced is also likely to be conducted on a different date.
Meanwhile, the official website of JEE Advanced says the Advanced Exam will be conducted on 17 May. The first paper will start at 9.00 a.m. and end at 12 noon (IST). The second paper will be conducted from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. (IST). The hall ticket is likely to available online from May 10.
JEE Advanced 2020
So far there is no change or any mention of it in the official website. So let us keep fingers crossed, says M. Rajkumar, a JEE Main 2020 aspirant. Many students who are excited about IIT exams have opined the same thing.
‘We keep track of the developments in JEE Mains and Advanced.’ Information brochure on the official website says JEE Main (April) 2020 would be held from 5 to 11 April and the results will be declared on 31 April.
However, these dates have undergone a change owing to coronavirus outbreak. If this exam (Main) is conducted on a later date, it also means the results will also be declared on a later date.
As candidates who have passed JEE Main with good score can apply for Advanced, the delay in results of Main can only mean a delay in applying for Advanced, says A.K. Ashok Kumar, another IIT exam enthusiast.
The schedule of Advanced on its official website again says declaration of results of Main of 2020 would be by 30 April and registration for Advanced is from 1 to 6 May.
The registration for JEE Advanced commences only after the declaration of JEE Main results. Since the results of JEE Main will come a bit late than usual time, the registration for Advanced also is likely to witness a postponement.
This postponement of registration is likely to lead to change in the date of conducting exams. Outbreak of coronavirus is in a way responsible for this. The pandemic has not only caused health problems but also deaths across the country.
However, nothing can be said as of now. If things turn alright with regards to the present lock down, if it is lifted and JEE Main is conducted on time, then Advanced is also likely to be conducted on a timely manner, says S.R. Prasad, a Physics faculty in a competitive exam coaching institute.
