Industry Conclave 2021 to be held on great 17 & 18 April

Industry Conclave 2021 of IIT Madras will be held completely online on 17 & 18 April to promote industry-academic collaboration.
The event will also develop means to generate new ideas for constructive partnerships.


Corporate Relations Cell of International and Alumni Relations Student Council of IIT Madras is organising Industry Conclave 2021 which will be open to public.

Dr. Sathyanarayanan Seshadri, faculty advisor for Corporate Relations at IIT Madras spoke about unique aspects of Industry Conclave 2021.

The format is very unique and interesting with many panel discussions focused on exposing the key innovation and research activities to relevant stakeholders, said Professor Satyanarayanan.

There is more to Industry Conclave 2021. A student competition is also being organised in which participants are rewarded for their scientific and analytical creativity.
The problem statement revolves around over-analysing a product in the market and going in-depth into its history, the science behind it and all obscure mathematics that may be unveiled along with it.
The competition during Industry Conclave 2021 will be conducted in two phases.
Phase 1 would require the participant(s) to choose any retail product in the standard market, analyse the history of the product and how it reached its final state in the market today.

In Phase 2, the selected teams will be provided a common product which they will have to over-analyse in a similar manner.
Mr. Saarthak Marathe, student co-head at Corporate Relations Cell of Student Council spoke about benefits for students taking part in Industry Conclave 2021.

Industry Conclave 2021 will also bring in eminent speakers for the investment, industrial, research sector to discuss burning topics related to the involvement of academia in the industry, he said.
Shounak Bhattacharya, also a student co-head at Corporate Relations Cell at Student Council said IIT Madras ecosystem has a lot of innovative ideas and work going on.

Industry Conclave 2021 will also feature technical exhibitions which would be organised in collaboration with various units based at IIT Madras.
Exhibitions during the event are to be organised with collaboration of Centre for Innovation, Nirman, Healthcare Technology Innovation Cell and IIT Madras Incubation Cell.
All these projects will be live on the Industry Conclave 2021 platform with the teams presenting their idea.
The technical exhibition at conclave will have 27 booths that would be setup by various tech-teams and startups ranging from the healthcare, ed-tech, aviation and prosthetics sector.
The teams will get to meaningfully network with each other and display their technological prowess to the industry specialists gracing the event.
The exhibition at conclave will be attended by several venture capitalists and angel investors looking for funding opportunities.

The two day Industry Conclave will also feature eminent speakers who would throw light on various topics of relevance.
