IITM Alumni Association to conduct great Sangam online
IITM Alumni Association will conduct its flagship event ‘Sangam’ from 1 to 6 December completely online.
Sangam 2020 will be held from 1 to 6 December this year and the theme for the event being conducted by IITM Alumni Association will be ‘Driving the new normal.’
The event by IITM Alumni Association will deliberate on how governments, businesses and individuals can convert this moment of crisis caused by global pandemic COVID-19 into an era of opportunities.
Sangam 2020 by IITM Alumni Association will also be a platform to virtually showcase innovations brought out by startups on topics like ‘Bharat in the New Normal,’ ‘Healthcare and Therapeutics in the New Normal,’ ‘Future of Work and Education in the New Normal’ and ‘Deep-tech in the New Normal.’

The highlight point is Mr. Sonam Wangchuk, Founding-director of the Students’ Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL) will be launching the ‘New Normal’ showcase of global innovations by startups during Sangam 2020 by IITM Alumni Association.
He will speak on ‘Sparking an Innovation Culture.’ The showcase will be available for the month of December this year.
There is more to it as far as this flagship event being conducted by IITMAA is concerned. Sangam 2020 by IITMAA will also have fireside chats with eminent personalities.
Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Member of Parliament and National Vice President of BJP will speak on ‘People, Policy and Politicians in the New Normal.’
Also Professor K. VijayRaghavan, Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India will speak on ‘Achieving Impact Through Science and Technology in India’ during the flagship event of IITMAA.

Dr. Subra Suresh, President, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore will speak ‘Research and Education in the New Normal.’
Sridhar Vembu, founder and CEO of Zoho Corporation will deliberate on ‘Made in India, Made for the World’ and the idea of ‘idli profitability instead of ramen profitability for Indian startups during Sangam 2020 by IITMAA.
Director of IIT Madras, Professor Bhaskar Ramamurthi will be speaking on ‘ ‘IIT Madras – Excellence in the New Normal’ during the flagship event of IITMAA.
Speaking on the global nature of the event by IITM Alumni Association, Mr. Krishnan Narayanan, Vice President, IITMAA and Coordinator for Sangam 2020 said Sangam 2020 is indeed having a wide-reach – already nearly 2,000 people from 400 cities in India and around the world have responded to our survey.
