IIT NIT admission 2020: Great, admsn process to have 6 counselling rounds?

IIT NIT admission 2020, the number of counselling rounds is likely to be restricted to six instead of seven with regards to admission for IITs and NITs.

Sources say this measure is being taken up with regards to IIT NIT admission to help start classes earlier.

Sources say, the proposal to reduce the counselling by one round with regards to IIT NIT admission was putforth by IIT Delhi.

This proposal with regards to IIT NIT admission process is said to have been sent to Joint Implementation Committee (JIC).

If approved, the number of counselling rounds with regards to IIT NIT admission could be reduced. Post acceptance, the information will be sent to Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB).

CSAB is the organisation which coordinates IIT NIT admission process. That’s not all with regards to developments related to IIT NIT admission.

Sources further say, IIT Delhi is also said to have suggested that the result declaration with regards to JEE Advanced must also be sped up.

The results of JEE Advanced must be announced with in a week after the exam is conducted. This will be different from the usual procedure where it takes about 14 days to bring out the results.

As per the usual practise, the IIT, NIT admission process should have already begin, as the academic sessions likely witness commencement by end of July.

However, this time there is lot of hinderance owing to corona virus outbreak. Most of the affairs in almost all the sectors have come to a standstill. Academic arena was not an exception.

Final exams, admission procedures are now delayed, needless to say even IIT, NIT admission is also not an exception.

Even the exams with regards to JEE Mains JEE Advanced to select candidates for the admission are also postponed.

The things are still far from being over. Early start of classes by October can turn into a reality if the counselling process is completed between September and October.

There is a view point that couple of students may not have admission as the number of rounds of counselling is brought down with regards to IIT, NIT admission.

However, sources say, the doing away the seventh round of counselling may not make much a difference. It is said the seventh round is mostly used by students to change to to their choice of course.

It is known that counselling for IIT, NIT admission is usually said to have about seven rounds of counselling for the seats in them which are said to be about 40,000.
