IIT Madras and Capgemini are hosting a competition seeking innovative ideas in ‘Engineering Technologies from polytechnic college students of Tamil Nadu.
Who can take part in the contest being hosted by IIT Madras and Capgemini? Second and Third-year Polytechnic College students from Tamil Nadu are eligible to participate.

There can be any number of groups and ideas from an Institution. Ideas put forth in the contest hosted by IIT Madras and Capgemini must not be related to IoT, IT & AI.
Ideas related to the above fields will not be accepted.
The last date for submission of ideas for this contest being hosted by IIT Madras and Capgemini is 21 August.
Capgemini is a multinational IT firm.

Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CSIE) which focuses on teaching and research related to social enterprise in India is coordinating the competition which is being hosted by IIT Madras and Capgemini.
The contest would be held in online mode. What are the participants in this contest being hosted by IIT Madras and Capgemini supposed to do?
The participants in this competition hosted by IIT Madras and Capgemini have to come up with ideas that will result in livelihood enhancement among farmers and artisan communities.
Their ideas will be converted into technologies for their livelihood promotion. What is the prize for winners in the competition being hosted by IIT Madras and Capgemini?
The top two innovative ideas will be awarded prize money of Rs 50,000 each and also will receive mentor support from CSIE and IIT Madras faculty for their further prototype development.

IDEA SPARK, in particular, has been very successful over the years in motivating college students to ideate and innovate in this context, he said.

How to register
Candidates who are interested in taking part in the contest organised by IIT Madras and Capgemini can visit the official website of CSIE at ‘https://csie.iitm.ac.in‘
Soon after the webpage downloads, they can scroll down the webpage and click link ‘Idea Spark’ and a new webpage will download.
When the new webpage downloads, applicants can see the link ‘Register Now’ on right side top corner.
Participants can click ‘Register Now’ and start providing the required information about them, their ideas for the contest, description of how their ideas would result in livelihood among farmers.
Participants of the contest hosted by IIT Madras and Capgemini can upload required videos on their ideas in YouTube or GoogleDrive or DropBox and share the links in the registration form.
Ideas related to IT, IoT and AI must not be submitted as the focus for the contest is enhancing livelihood for artisans, women and farmers.
The videos uploaded about the ideas for the competition by IIT Madras and Capgemini must not be more than 3 to 5 minutes in duration.
