Courses offered in post graduate engineering as a part of IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 are Aerospace Engineering, Computational and Experimental Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Catalysis Technology, Building Technology and Construction Management.

Clinical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Communication and Signal Processing, Power Systems and Power Electronics, Microelectronics and VLSI Design, Control and Instrumentation.

Ocean Structures, Ocean Technology, Petroleum Engineering and Functional Materials and Nanotechnology. The total number of seats available for IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 across all these subjects is 510.

More about M.Tech
The M.Tech courses that are being offered for students who get selected in IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 comprise four semesters and are based on credit system and provide a student with a wide choice of courses. Each Programme comprises several core and elective courses and project work.

Eligibility
The eligibility condition for IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 is that applicants must be GATE qualified candidates. They can be IIT graduates with BTech degree.

Candidates sponsored by various organizations recognized by DST as Research and Development units, candidates sponsored by NIOT or from educational institutions approved by AICTE/ UGC/ Government or from Government/ Public Sector Undertakings.

QIP candidates, UOP candidates of various organizations/industries as per the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the Institute or Defense sponsored candidates can also apply for IIT-M MTech Admission 2020.

Important dates
Opening of website for online applications for IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 happened on 21 March for GATE qualified candidates and IIT B.Tech graduates. For sponsored candidates the date of registration began on 20 March. The last date is 11:59 pm of 15 April to register for IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 for both. The suitability test/interview for eligible candidates will happen on 25 April.

GATE qualified and IIT BTech graduates
The procedure for applying for IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 can be done online. Applicants who are GATE qualified (they should have good score in GATE of 2018, 2019 of 2020) or IIT graduates in B.Tech can click the official link ‘http://mtechadm.iitm.ac.in‘ to apply.

Sponsored candidates willing to apply for IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 must click the link at ‘https://mtechspons.iitm.ac.in’ Sponsored candidates must remember that programme codes should not end with Y as HTTA is not applicable to the sponsored candidates.

Along with the application form, the candidate should enclose (not stapled) the Sponsorship Certificate, SC/ ST/ OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / EWS certificate (if applicable) and certificate by competent Medical Board for Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates (if applicable).

Fee to be paid
Sponsored candidates
Fee to be paid while applying for IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 is Rs 250 for SC,ST and PwD category candidates and Rs 500 for all other category candidates.

GATE qualified and IIT BTech
The fee to be paid while applying for IIT-M MTech Admission 2020 is Rs 200 for SC,ST,PwD,Female candidates and Rs 400 for all other category candidates.

Points to remember
Candidates who have applied for the M.Tech admission must remember that they need not send any hard copy of the application after registration.

Applicants have to remember to read all the instructions carefully to ensure they have the required qualifications before applying for the course.

Who can take up AAT 2025 registration?

Students who have passed JEE Advanced 2025 with required qualifying marks can take up AAT 2025 registration. Applying for JEE Advanced requires a pass in JEE Mains.

Candidates who have passed plus two with maths, physics and chemistry as subjects will be able to take up JEE Mains registration. The process to take up JEE Advanced AAT 2025 registration is online.

1. The URL has to be typed into the browser and the webpage has to be allowed to download.

2. Once the website is available, students should click the link for JEE Advanced AAT 2025 registration and enter JEE Advanced 2025 registration number, their date of birth, mobile number and email address.

3. Post providing the above details, applicants will be asked if they are interested in AAT. Students have to answer ‘Yes’ to take up JEE Advanced AAT 2025 registration.

4. Candidates have to provide the required information and choose the centers where they wish to write the exam and submit the form.

5. They will receive message indicating successful completion of JEE Advanced AAT 2025 registration.

The message has to be downloaded and a printout of it has to be taken and preserved for use in future. This could be of use during the admission process.

Exam pattern

Candidates who have completed JEE Advanced AAT 2025 registration must also know the exam pattern if they are to score good marks.

Those who have taken up AAT 2025 registration can take up the exam which will be held in offline mode, as a pen and paper mode test.

Candidates will have three hours time to answer all the questions. The medium of the test is English.

The sections in the question paper are – Imagination and aesthetic sensitivity, three dimensional perception, Geometrical drawing, Freehand drawing and Architectural Awareness.

Freehand Drawing

This would comprise of simple drawing depicting the total object in its right form and proportion, surface texture, relative location and details of its component parts in appropriate scale.

Common domestic or day-to-day life usable objects like furniture, equipment, etc., from memory.

Three dimension perception

Understanding and appreciation of three-dimensional forms with building elements, colour, volume and orientation. Visualization through structuring objects in memory.

Architectural Awareness

General interest and awareness of famous architectural creations – both national and international, places and personalities (architects, designers, etc.) in the related domain.

Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity

Composition exercise with given elements. Context mapping.

Creativity check through innovative uncommon test with familiar objects. Sense of colour grouping or application.

The medium of the test is English. The sections in the question paper are – Imagination and aesthetic sensitivity, three dimensional perception, Geometrical drawing, Freehand drawing and Architectural Awareness.

The admit cards obtained for JEE Advanced 2025 can also be used to gain entry into the test centers for AAT 2024.
