IIT JAM 2023 schedule has been announced, registration begins on September 7. The last date to submit applications is October 11 2022. The exam will be conducted on February 23 2023. This is nothing short of good news.
Students who are keen on studying post graduation courses in IITs in non-engineering science fields can focus on the test. This exam which is popularly known as Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) is conducted by one of the IITs by taking turns.
IIT Guwahati will be conducting IIT JAM 2023 and this will be a computer based test which will be conducted for subjects – Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematical Statistics (MS), Mathematics (MA), Physics (PH).
The questions in IIT JAM will be fully objective type and the format is divided into three types – (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
Candidates can appear for either one or two test papers in IIT JAM 2023. The test is conducted to provide direct admission to approximately 3000 seats in various postgraduate programmes at IITs. There is more to it than meets the eye.
IIT JAM scores would likely to be used by around 30 CFTIs including NITs, IISc, DIAT, IIEST, IISER, IIPE, JNCASR, SLIET for over 2300 seats. The test schedule for IIT JAM is provided below for the sake of the students:

Dates
Application submission for IIT JAM will begin on September 7 2022 and will be open for registration till October 11 2022. The test will be conducted on February 12 2023 which is on a Sunday.
The results will be announced on March 22 2023 which is on Wednesday. Students who have passed IIT JAM 2023 with the required qualifying marks can take part in online application submission for admissions from April 11 to April 25 2023.

Eligibility
The students willing to apply for IIT JAM 2023 must have passed an undergraduate degree or should be currently studying in their final year of undergraduate programme. Proof of having passed the undergraduate degree should be submitted by September 29, 2023.

Candidates promoted without a marksheet should produce a certificate stating the subjects studied in that semester/year duly signed by the Head of the Institute. Foreign nationals with Indian degree are eligible to apply, subject to policy of the admitting institute.
Point to remember
At the time of admission, all admitted candidates will have to submit a Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form. The admitted candidates may also have to undergo a Physical Fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. Admission is liable to be cancelled if a candidate is found physically unfit to pursue their chosen course of study.

The process to apply is online, candidates can submit applications on the official website of IIT JAM 2023 hosted by IIT Guwahati. The url to reach the official website for IIT JAM is ‘https://jam.iitg.ac.in/’
Soon after the webpage downloads on clicking the above url, candidates have to click the link for registration. The link to take up registration will be made active on September 7 2023.
Post clicking the link, students have to fill the registration form by filling details like their name, age, date of birth and the create an account comprising username and password.
Post creating an account, candidates can login and start filling the form. The required information has to provided and registration fees has to be paid and the application form has to be submitted.
Registration fees
Applicants of IIT JAM 2023 have to pay Rs 900 for one test paper and Rs 1250 for two test papers if they women or belong to SC/ST/PwD categories. Candidates belonging to all other categories must pay Rs 1800 for one test paper and Rs 2500 for two test papers. The registration fee information is also provided in a tabular format below for the sake of the students:

Test centres
IIT JAM 2023 will be conducted in several cities which fall under eight zones located across India. Each of the zones come under their respective institution of eminence situated there.
