The MeitY Grand Challenge 2024 Finale was a major highlight, featuring top teams from across the country pitching their groundbreaking ideas.
VAYUT Autonomous, with its no-code robotics OS and simulation software, emerged as the winner of the MeitY Grand Challenge after a tough competition, say sources from IIT Hyderabad.

Following the chief guest’s address, IIT Hyderabad was awarded with ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Certification, along with ISO 27001:2022 Security management Systems.
Also, ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Standards, ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standards, and ISO 50001:2018 Energy standards certifications, overall, were given.
They were given for implementation of sustainable practices in research and development, consultancy, projects and educational initiatives in campus.
Notably, the Business Continuity Certification is the first of its kind awarded to an educational institution in India, say sources from IIT Hyderabad.
iTIC, a Technology Business Incubator at IIT Hyderabad, supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), focuses on deep tech sectors like Healthcare.
It also focuses on AI/ML, Quantum Computing, AR/VR, Cybersecurity, Robotics, IoT, Industry 4.0, Blockchain, Electronics, Advanced Materials, Drones, and Biotechnology.
Since its inception in 2015, iTIC has supported over 192 startups, provided more than Rs 10 crores in direct funding, generated Rs 1250 crores in revenue, and created over 1,100 jobs.
In the recent Indian National Ranking (NIRF2023), IITH is placed at 3rd in Innovation and 8th among Engineering institutes in India.
It has 310+ full-time faculty, 4,700+ students (PG + PhD students accounting for about 60%).
The institute has a strong research focus with Rs 1150+ Cr of R&D funding, 10,500+ publications, 275+ Patents.
It has about 190+ startups (that have generated 1100+ jobs and a revenue of INR 1250+ Cr).
