IIT Guwahati receives 164 placement offers on Day 1’s 1st two sessions
IIT Guwahati campus placements for the 2023-24 academic year began on a robust note. A total of 164 offers were made by 59 Companies during Day One’s Sessions.
This is a great development for IIT Guwahati. This is more than what was witnessed in the previous year where 160 offers were made by 46 companies during the last academic year (2022-23) across Core, Software, Business Analyst job profiles.
Most of the offers were in the sectors of Core Engineering, and Finance profiles, say sources from IIT Guwahati.
The Institute has received as many as 11 placement offers above 1 Core package were made so far as compared to 07 offers in 2022-2023.
Big recruiters
The big recruiters of this year’s first two Sessions include Google, Microsoft, Bajaj, HPCL, Navi, Piramal, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments among others.
Phase I of placements is expected to continue till 15th December 2023 at IIT Guwahati. Session 1.1 of Placements at the institution began at around 12 am (midnight) while session 1.2 commenced at around 8 AM.
The Final Session of 1.3 began at 4 PM and is scheduled to conclude by midnight.
Steady placement
Speaking about this year’s placement drive, Prof. Lalit Mohan Pandey, Head, Center for Career Development, IIT Guwahati, said, “IIT Guwahati defies global recession by maintaining the steady placement statistics.
Through rigorous training, our students have adeptly grasped the intricacies of companies’ requirements, equipping themselves to effectively meet these demands, said Prof Lalit Mohan.
Registration
In the 2023-24 Academic Year, a total of 1491 students have registered for placements, across different streams of study.
The total number of companies registered for Phase I of Placements is 262 who will be recruiting for a total of around 422 profiles.
More than 50 start-ups have also registered for recruitment in the ongoing academic year along with 07 Public Sector Undertakings.
This process is assisting in fostering a comprehensive understanding on the part of both the employer and potential employee.
Happiness
Expressing his happiness on a strong start to the placement season at IIT Guwahati, Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Officiating Director, IIT Guwahati, said we are glad to see the participation.
The recruiters were from different sectors enthusiastically hiring the talented pool of IIT Guwahati. The students are encouraged to join the core sectors, he said.
