IIM Shillong Partners with SIDBI to Launch 18-Month STEM Entrepreneurship Program

IIM Shillong: IIMSFIE will offer an intensive 18-month entrepreneurship training program for 30 beneficiaries under this scheme.

The Indian Institute of Management Shillong, through IIM Shillong Foundation for Incubation and Enterprise (IIMSFIE), has formally entered into an agreement with SIDBI- Small Industries Development Bank of India. The partnership established is critical in its efforts toward promoting entrepreneurship and innovation within the state, according to the statement of IIM Shillong.

The signing ceremony took place at IIM Shillong. The collaboration will provide entrepreneur training and incubation support to budding entrepreneurs. According to the IIM Shillong statement, the initiative will create a robust support system to nurture innovative start-ups and enterprises by leveraging SIDBI’s vast network and IIMSFIE’s infrastructure and experience.

• Under this collaboration, IIMSFIE will launch the Skill to Enterprise Model, STEM, with SIDBI.
• The STEM program will arm potential entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge, and mentorship to translate innovative ideas into successful businesses, stated IIM Shillong.

About the STEM entrepreneurship training programme

Under this STEM programme, IIMSFIE will provide 30 selected candidates with an intense 18-month training program for entrepreneurship.

The programme will offer the participating applicants classroom teaching, hands-on training, incubation support at IIMSFIE, and personalized mentorship. This programme is designed to catalyze innovation and sustainability in entrepreneurship and equip applicants to create sustainable livelihoods.

The participants will learn and acquire the much-needed knowledge and support on building and scaling business ventures contributing towards economic growth and sustainability.

As per Director Professor DP Goyal, “This association with SIDBI marks a significant stride in the direction of our pursuit towards fostering and incubating entrepreneurship within the North East and beyond as well.
