Convocations postponed amidst corona virus scare

Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore, Lucknow and Indore have postponed their convocation functions owing to corona virus scare. According to sources, I.I.M-Bangalore was supposed to hold its convocation on 20 March.
It is heard that various stake holders were consulted and the decision was taken. Once the situation gets better the new date of convocation is likely to be announced, say sources from I.I.M-B. IIM-B is even said to have asked its students to who have been out of the country to visit the campus doctor once they are back.

Similarly, 24 March was the date when the convocation was supposed to take place. About 700 students were to receive degrees during the previously planned convocation day, as of now they are likely to receive it on some other date. Same is the case with the students of IIM Lucknow. They were supposed to get their degrees on 21 March. The IIM L is also said to have decided to postpone its convocation. Sources from IIM L say that decision to postpone the event has been taken keeping in view the safety of the students.
It is worth recollecting that concern regarding corona virus are being seen everywhere and onus is on taking preventive measures to ensure the impact of the virus does not spread and cause panic.
