Sources from the insitute said the top companies recruited engineering graduate and post graduate students. Sources further remind that the placement season is yet to witness completion and many more students are likely to get placement orders as couple of more companies are linedup to visit the campus.

IIIT-D students get offers from top COs

Google made a total of 15 offers the B.Tech students of IIIT-Delhi, three students of B.Tech 2020 batch are said to have received full-time offers out of them as Software Development Engineer. That is not all, six B.Tech pre-final year students bagged summer internships for May 2020.

The role involves maximizing the benefits of innovative machine learning (ML) techniques in the industry to solve real-world e-Commerce problems through diversified applications of ML.

The key responsibilities for this position include analyzing and extracting relevant information from large amounts of Amazon’s historical business data to help automate and optimize key processes, establishing scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data model development and researching and implementing novel machine learning and statistical approaches.

A final year B.Tech student of IIIT-Delhi is said to have received an international offer from Facebook (London) in the present placement season. This is said to be a highlight in the present placement season.

BITS Pilani signed an agreement with the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) in Pune, on December 4. The areas of knowledge-sharing activities undertaken include workshops, seminars, and conferences to be conducted on national security fields, according to a statement from BITS Pilani.

The BITS Pilani statement also says that joint research work will be an area of focus for this collaboration. The Center for Research Excellence in National Security (CRENS) established at the BITS Pilani will facilitate the partnership.

Both institutes will also undertake research projects including short-term consultancy assignments to deal with industry issues and long-term initiatives to explore emerging and future areas. The collaborations will include the usage of lab infrastructures, faculty members, and research scholars.

BITS Pilani vice chancellor Ramgopal Rao was critical of the tie-up and stated: “Our partnership with DIAT Pune reflects a shared vision that through research and innovation, we can synergistically elevate the defence capability of India and give a technological push to India. Through CRENS we intend to address the veritable challenges and bring about self-reliance in the strategic sectors.
