GATE 2024 registration extended to 12 Oct 23, link to register here
GATE 2024 registration last date is 12 October 2023, individuals can submit applications at ‘https://gate2024.iisc.ac.in/’ The registrations can be done without late fee if they are taken up with in 12 October 2023.
Applicants can take up GATE 2024 registration from 13 to 20 October 2023 by paying late fine. It is to note that the GATE 2024 registration date has been extended for the second time.
The last date to take up GATE 2024 registration with no late fee was 29 September as per the earlier schedule. That was extended to 6 October for the first time. The second extension provided is 12 October 2023.
Schedule
GATE 2024 registration started on 30 August 2023. Candidates registering on or before 12 October 2023 need not pay the late fee. Candidates can apply from with late fee from 13 to 20 October 2023.
Modification in GATE 2024 application can be taken up from 7 to 11 November 2023. Candidates who have completed their GATE 2024 registration will be able to download admit cards for the test from 3 January 2024 onwards.
The exam will be conducted on 3,4,10,11 February 2024. Candidate’s response will be available on the official portal on 16 February 2024.
Answer keys are to be available on the website on 21 February 2024. Candidates can submit challenges to the answer keys from 22 to 25 February 2024.
The results for GATE 2024 will be announced on 16 March 2024 and score cards would be available for download from 23 March 2024 onwards. More details are in the tabular format below:

About the exam
The full name of the exam is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, its popularly known to all as GATE. It is a national level exam conducted once a year.
GATE 2024 is meant to be conducted for the year 2024. The GATE score obtained by the candidates will remain valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement of results.
GATE score is also used by some colleges and institutions for admission to postgraduate programs. Several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have also been using GATE score for recruitment.
The exam is conducted by IITs and IISc Bangalore on behalf of National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education of Government of India.
Who can take up GATE 2024 registration?
Candidates who have completed graduation in the relevant discipline from a recognized educational institution can take up GATE 2024 registration.
The bachelors degree can be from the field of Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture/ and Humanities.
Even those who have appeared for their qualifying degree exam and are waiting for the results or are about to appear for the final exams can also take up GATE 2024 registration.
However, these people have to pass the exam and provide a proof for it by the time the admission process begins. More details are provided below:

How to take up GATE 2024 registration?
The process to take up GATE 2024 registration is online and candidates can submit applications at the official website that is reachable with the URL ‘https://gate2024.iisc.ac.in/’
1. The URL mentioned above must be typed into the browser and submitted to allow the webpage to download.
2. Once the webpage is ready, candidates can click the information brochure to know about the exam.
3. After knowing about the exam, candidates can click the link for registration. Clicking this link will open another webpage with URL ‘https://goaps.iisc.ac.in/login’
4. After clicking the link, they can register and create an account with username and password.
5. Post account creation, candidates can login and start applying for the exam.
The same is Rs 1400 per paper if applying during the extended time duration of 30 September to 13 October 2023. All other candidates will be paying Rs 1800 per paper if applying in the regular duration.
The same is Rs 2300 per paper if applying during the extended duration. Details are below:

How to download the admit card?
The process to download admit card for GATE 2024 is online. Candidates have to visit the official website to download the hall ticket with the help of URL ‘https://gate2024.iisc.ac.in/’
1. The URL mentioned above has to be typed into the browser and submitted to allow the website to download.
2. Once the website is ready, candidates have to click the link to download the hall ticket.
3. After clicking the link, they can enter their roll number/application number and other required details and submit them to obtain the hall ticket.
Point to remember
Candidates who have successfully completed their GATE 2024 registration will alone be able to download the admit card. The link to download hall ticket will be made active at the appropriate time, a few days before the commencement of the exam.
The questions will be asked in two sections, while one section has questions related to General Aptitude which may be common to all candidates.

GATE 2024 registration is just one part of the whole effort to gain admission into postgraduate courses. There is a lot of things that happen after GATE 2024 registration.
Applicants have to pass the exam with the required qualifying marks which are also known as cutoff marks, these are the minimum marks the candidates have to score in the exam to be eligible for the next phase of admission.
Score of the candidates, have to either greater than cutoff or equal to it to be eligible for the next stage of the process. Also, students must ensure there is no room left for errors while taking up GATE 2024 registration.

Who will conduct AAT 2025?
AAT 2025 will be conducted by IIT Kanpur and is expected to see a participation in impressive numbers. The same institution is conducting JEE Advanced 2025.
Details about the exam are available on the official website mentioned above. Students who pass AAT 2025 will be able to study BArch in IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur and IIT (BHU) Varnasi.
Who can take up AAT 2025 registration?
Students who have passed JEE Advanced 2025 with required qualifying marks can take up AAT 2025 registration. Applying for JEE Advanced requires a pass in JEE Mains.
Candidates who have passed plus two with maths, physics and chemistry as subjects will be able to take up JEE Mains registration. The process to take up JEE Advanced AAT 2025 registration is online.
1. The URL has to be typed into the browser and the webpage has to be allowed to download.
2. Once the website is available, students should click the link for JEE Advanced AAT 2025 registration and enter JEE Advanced 2025 registration number, their date of birth, mobile number and email address.
3. Post providing the above details, applicants will be asked if they are interested in AAT. Students have to answer ‘Yes’ to take up JEE Advanced AAT 2025 registration.
4. Candidates have to provide the required information and choose the centers where they wish to write the exam and submit the form.
5. They will receive message indicating successful completion of JEE Advanced AAT 2025 registration.
The message has to be downloaded and a printout of it has to be taken and preserved for use in future. This could be of use during the admission process.

Exercises in geometrical drawing containing lines, angles, triangles, quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, etc. Study of plan (top view), elevation (front or side views) of simple solid objects like prisms, cones, cylinders, cubes, splayed surface holders, etc.
Freehand Drawing
This would comprise of simple drawing depicting the total object in its right form and proportion, surface texture, relative location and details of its component parts in appropriate scale.
Common domestic or day-to-day life usable objects like furniture, equipment, etc., from memory.
Three dimension perception
Understanding and appreciation of three-dimensional forms with building elements, colour, volume and orientation. Visualization through structuring objects in memory.
Architectural Awareness
General interest and awareness of famous architectural creations – both national and international, places and personalities (architects, designers, etc.) in the related domain.
Imagination and Aesthetic Sensitivity
Composition exercise with given elements. Context mapping.
Creativity check through innovative uncommon test with familiar objects. Sense of colour grouping or application.

The admit cards obtained for JEE Advanced 2025 can also be used to gain entry into the test centers for AAT 2024.
