National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the exam on 6,7,8 June 2023. The edit window in connection with CSIR UGC NET December 2022 is open from 12 to 18 April 2023.

More about the exam
The full name of the exam is the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test which is abbreviated as CSIR UGC NET.
It is a national-level exam conducted two times a year, it is for candidates who wish to take up research (Junior Research Fellowship) in science subjects or a job of lectureship in science subjects.
The exam is conducted online and answers have to be registered on a computer at the designated test canters which will be located across India. The questions from the subjects – Chemical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences.
Questions will be in a multiple-choice format where each question has more than one reply and the right one among that has to be chosen to get marks.
The same for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST category candidates must be 50%. Applicants who have studied B.Sc. (Hons.) or equivalent or are enrolled in an integrated MS-PhD program can also apply.
Students who have appeared for their final year exams and are waiting for the results or students who are about to appear for the final year exams of their qualifying degree can also apply. However, these students have to pass their exams and provide proof of it by the time of admission.
How to apply?
The process to undertake CSIR UGC NET December 2022 registration is online. Candidates have to visit the official website of ‘https://csirnet.nta.nic.in/’ to submit applications. The URL mentioned earlier has to be typed into the browser and the webpage must be allowed to download.
Once the webpage is downloaded, candidates can read the information about the exam and then click the link for CSIR UGC NET December 2022 registration and create an account comprising a username and password.
Post account creation, candidates can log in and fill out the application form, pay the registration fees and then submit the application form. The CSIR UGC NET December 2023 registration fee is Rs 1100 for General category candidates.
The same for General-EWS/OBC(NCL) is Rs 550, SC/ST and Third Gender is Rs 275, there is no application fee for applicants of PwD category.
After the exam
Candidates who have undertaken CSIR UGC NET December 2022 registration can wait for the appropriate time and download the hall ticket. They must appear for the exam at the test center chosen by them.
Students who pass CSIR UGC NET December 2022 with the required qualifying marks can apply for JRF or Assistant Professorship. Details would be available in the prospectus which can be accessed on the official website.
