CLAT 2024 registration is extended to 10 November 2023 and individuals can apply at ‘https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/’ The last date earlier was 3 November 2023.
Now it has been extended to 10 November 2023 to enable more people to take up CLAT 2024 registration. The process of application submission was thrown open on 1 July 2023.
A notification released in this connection says, candidates will be able to take up CLAT 2024 registration till 11:59 PM on 10 November 2023.
Those who wish to seek assistance in connection with CLAT 2024 registration can email to ‘clat@consortiumofnlus.ac.in’ Or they can call 080 47162020 between 10:00 am to 05:00 pm on all working days.
Candidates will be able to write the exam on 3 December 2023. The schedule for other activities like declaration of results, commencement of counselling process will be announced in due course on the official website mentioned above.

About the exam
CLAT is expanded into Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and is a national level entrance exam conducted to provide admission into law courses at graduate and post graduate level. Consortium of National Law Universities (CNLU) conducts the exam.
The law courses are offered by 22 national law universities around the country. This national level law admission test is conducted once every year and CLAT 2024 is meant for next year (2024).

The consortium was established on 19 August 2017 with the aim of improving the standard of legal education in India and justice system through legal education. There is more to it when it comes to CLAT 2024 registration.
Important dates
CLAT 2024 registration began on 1 July 2023 and the last date to take up CLAT 2024 registration is 10 November 2023. There is enough time and students can submit applications at their convenience.
Candidates who have applied for the exam can appear for it on 3 December 2023. The dates for release of results and counselling would be informed in the due course of time. There is more to it as far as this exam is concerned.
Who can take up CLAT 2024 registration?
The eligibility criteria for CLAT 2024 registration depends on the type of the course candidate is trying to gain admission into. Details in this regard are provided below for the sake of the candidates:
Undergraduate
Candidates willing to apply for undergraduate programmes of law through CLAT 2024 must have passed plus-two from any stream.
Students of plus-two who would be appearing for their qualifying exam also can take up CLAT 2024 registration. However, these candidates have to produce the proof of passing plus-two exam by the time of admission.
Postgraduate
Applicants willing to seek admission into post graduate law courses through CLAT 2024 must be an LL.B degree holder or holder of its equivalent examination with a minimum of 50 percent pass marks.
Even candidates appearing for their qualifying examination also can apply. However they have to produce the proof of their passing the qualifying exam at the time of admission.
The same for SC/ST category candidates is 40 percent if applying for undergraduate course. The same for SC/ST category candidates is 45 percent.
Candidates taking up CLAT 2024 registration must ensure they have the required pass percentage in their qualifying exam.
How to apply?
The procedure to take up CLAT 2022 registration is online. Applicants can visit the official website at ‘consortiumofnlus.ac.in’ to apply for the exam.
1. The URL mentioned above must be typed into the browser and submitted to allow the website to download.
2. Once the website is ready, candidates can read the information about the exam and then click the button CLAT 2024
3. Clicking the above button will open another webpage with URL ‘https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/clat-2024/’
4. When the webpage with above URL opens, candidates can register and obtain an account with username and password.
5. Soon after the account is created, candidates can log in and start filling out the application form.
Registration fee
The CLAT 2024 registration fee is Rs 4000 for General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI candidates. The same for SC/ST category candidates is Rs 3,500.
The registration fee for applying for graduate and post graduate courses through CLAT 2024 is the same.
The candidates themselves will have to bear the bank transaction charges for remitting the fee online.

Documents
Candidates have to upload the below mentioned documents while CLAT 2024 registration:
# Candidates have to upload a passport size recent photograph of themselves with a plain background along with the online application for CLAT 2024.
# Signature of the candidate
# Category certificate if applying under SC/ST/OBC
# Relevant certificate issued by competent authority if you are applying if candidate is P.W.D
# Relevant certificate issued by competent authority if the candidate is coming under BPL category
Graduate exam
The duration of CLAT 2024 for graduate admission is of two hours duration and has 120 questions. Each question has one mark. A wrong answer will lead to deduction of 0.25 mark.
The subjects are English Language, Current Affairs, including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. There is negative marking, 0.25 Mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
Post Graduate exam
The duration of CLAT 2024 exam for post graduate course admission is for two hours and will have 120 questions.
Each question in CLAT 2022 exam will be of one mark. A wrong answer will lead to deduction of 0.25 mark each.
Questions will be from subjects – Constitutional law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law.
Questions will also be asked from Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law and Labour & Industrial Law. There is negative marking, 0.25 Mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
