Class X Exams TN: Great, 10th class examinations from 1 June

Class X Exams TN, the class 10 exams in Tamilnadu are to be held from 1 to 12 June. Education Minister of Tamilnadu Sengottaiyan is said to made an announcement in this regard recently.
It is known that the Class X Exams TN had to be postponed when corona virus outbreak began about two months ago. Entire nation went into a lock down to stop the virus from creating more problems.


State board exams in many other states in India were also postponed owing to corona virus outbreak. Initially, Class X Exams TN were supposed to be held from 27 March to 13 April.
This did not happen owing to COVID 19 situation as nation went into a lock down. The situation then and the situation now will have a lot of difference when it comes to Class X Exams TN.
This time when candidates will be writing Class X Exams TN they will have to follow social distancing norms, which was not required previously.

Sources say, students will be writing their Class X Exams TN in the same centre allotted to them previously.
This time the student may have the need to follow social distancing norms, take precautions like wearing masks while writing Class X Exams TN.

Transport will also be arranged for the sake of students who depend on public transport to reach exam centres for Class X Exams TN.
Starting from 1 June Class X Exams TN will be held every alternative day till 12 June.

As usual the time allotment for Class X Exams TN is also mentioned. Soon after candidates sit in the exam halls for Class X Exams TN they can read the question paper from 9:15 am to 9:25 am, verification of particulars by candidates can be done from 9:25 am to 9:30 am.
Candidates can begin writing their Class X Exam TN from 9:30 am onwards. While Class X Exams TN will be held from 1 to 12 June, evaluation for Class 12 exam answer sheets will begin by 27 May.
Apart from Class X Exams, even announcement was made with regards to Class XI exam also. This was supposed to be held on 26 March as per the earlier schedule, now this will be conducted on 4 June.
Sources say, about 3000 centres are earmarked for conducting the Class X Exams TN. Things may not be easy this time as the say is while Class X Exams TN will be conducted on one hand, evaluation will also be take place simultaneously.
While announcing the dates for Class X Exams TN came as a much relief for many, there are good number of others who have received this with a bit of skepticism.
The exams for 10th standard are going to be held in June, it is doubtful as to whether all students would turn up for the exam or not, says S. Nallamuthu, a teacher for class 10.
COVID-19 situation has not yet subsided and conducting exams amidst this may not see much attendance, he says. Administrative manager with a local school R. Sitalakshmi is also apprehensive.
Students coming from the areas which still have COVID-19 cases may not be able to attend the exam. She quickly adds the solution to it. Exams can be conducted twice.
First time will be for the areas where there are no COVID 19 cases, the second time is for the areas where there are cases of COVID-19. The exams here can be conducted after the situation improves.
There are many takers for this opinion also. T.S. Swaminathan, also a teacher opines the best would be to wait till the situation improves.
Committee formed
School Education Department of Tamilnadu is said to have formed a committee to look into finding ways to make up for the time lost for the schools.
Committee is said to be headed by School Education Commissioner Sigy Thomas Vaidyan. The other members of this committee are directors of school education, elementary education, examination, matric schools, representatives from IIT Madras and Parent-Teacher Association.
The committee will look into the teaching methods and analyse them. It will also look into alternatives like online learning. And, suggest ways through which uninterrupted learning can be ensured for students.
The committee is said to be submitting its report with in 15 days.
