Attention Students..! Class 12 Exams to Begin March 2, Class 10 from March 11 in Tamil Nadu

This is an important update for all of you in Tamil Nadu preparing for board exams in 2026. The state’s School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has officially announced the schedule for the public examinations for both Class 12 (+2) and Class 10 (SSLC) for the academic year 2025-26 in Tamil Nadu.

Key Dates

  • For Class 12 (+2) students: The exams will begin on March 2, 2026 and conclude on March 26, 2026.

  • For Class 10 students: The exams will begin on March 11, 2026 and end on April 6, 2026.

Class 12

What This Means for You

  • With the dates out well in advance, it’s time to map your study schedule accordingly. For Class 12 students, March 2 is your kickoff line; each subject date will follow in the coming detailed timetable.

  • Class 10 students will have slightly more time, extending into early April, giving you opportunities for revision after the main March burst.

  • The advance announcement allows you to prioritise revision, practice previous-year papers, and schedule breaks wisely.

Preparation Tips

  1. Download the detailed timetable as soon as it appears on the DGE website of Tamil Nadu. Having the subject-wise dates helps in planning backwards from the exam day.

  2. Set up a realistic revision calendar: Break down subjects into topics, allocate buffer days for revision and mock tests, and account for the exam period where you’ll keep your schedule leaner but sharper.

  3. Solve model papers and past questions: This helps you familiarise yourself with the style of questions, time management, and exam expectations. Links on several education portals are available.

  4. Maintain health and mindset: The stretch up to exams is intensive. Get adequate sleep, keep your routine consistent, and steer clear of last-minute panic.

  5. Plan the days before and during exams: Know your exam centre, carry all required documents (admit cards, IDs), and arrive early. On exam days, make a strategy to start with easier questions, keep watch of time, and avoid getting stuck unnecessarily.

Why This Announcement Matters

  • The clear schedule provides transparency and reduces anxiety that often comes from “when will the exams be?” uncertainty.

  • Schools and students have enough lead time to make logistical arrangements — for example, printing admit cards, booking exam halls, arranging invigilators for schools, etc.

  • For parents and mentors, this gives a chance to support students more effectively: recognise pressure points, give quieter study zones, and help with time management.

  • It aligns all stakeholders, students, teachers, and schools on one unified timeline, which improves coordination and readiness across the state.

Final Words

Whether you’re in Class 12 and preparing for that final leap, or in Class 10 and readying for a major milestone, the dates announced are a signal to act now. Use the time wisely, stay focused, prepare smart, and walk into the exam halls with confidence.

To recap:

  • Class 12 (+2) exams: March 2–26, 2026.

  • Class 10 exams: March 11–April 6, 2026.

Wishing all students the very best for their preparations. If you’d like help with study plans, revision strategies, or mock-paper schedules, feel free to ask happy to assist.
