CBSE: Great optional exams for Class 10 and 12 in September
CBSE, Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the compartment, optional exams in September for students of class 10 and 12.
A notification released from Central Board of Secondary Education recently mentioned that the dates for the exams to be conducted in September will be announced soon.
Students who meet the above eligibility condition and is desirous of improving performance in the exams can apply for the optional exams.
Similarly, private and regular candidates can appear for the compartment exams for Central Board of Secondary Education class 10 and 12.
CBSE conducts compartment exams for those candidates who could not pass in one or two subjects.
Regular students willing to apply for the compartment exams of Central Board of Secondary Education for class 10 and 12 can approach their schools in which they have studied and appeared for the board exams.
Schools of these regular candidates have to submit LOC for compartment exams of classes 10 and 12 through e-Pariksha link ‘http://cbse.nic.in/newsite/reg2020.html’
Candidates of classes X and XII who have appeared for the examinations in February/March this year as regular candidates and whose result has been declared as ‘Compartment’ can approach their schools for registering themselves for compartment exams.
Similarly, candidates of Class XII who had applied for improvement of performance as regular candidates in the subjects for which examination was scheduled from 1 to 15 July and their result has been declared as ‘NC’ in the subject concerned can also approach their schools.
As far as private candidates are concerned, they too can register for compart exams of CBSE for classes 10 and 12.
Private candidates who can apply for compartment exams are those who have appeared in March 2019 in full subjects (i.e. 5/6/7 as per the Scheme of Studies) either as regular candidate through schools affiliated to the board or as private candidate and result declared as compartment, also could not pass in July 2019 (first chance) and February/March 2020 (second chance) examination, all such candidates are eligible to apply only as private candidates for third chance compartment examination to be held in September this year.
Also, candidates of class XII who had applied for improvement of Performance as private candidates in the subjects for which examination was scheduled from 1 to 15 July and their result has been declared as ‘NC’ in the subject concerned can apply as private candidates.
Private candidates can apply for compartment exams of CBSE for classes 10 and 12 directly through the url ‘http://cbseit.in/cbse/web/comptt/default.aspx’ from 13 August to 5 pm of 20 August.
Private candidates willing to apply for CBSE compartment exams must pay Rs 300 per subject if their schools are within India, and candidates whose schools are outside India must pay a fee of Rs 2000 per subject.
Private candidates who are not able to apply for compartment exam within the above stipulated time can pay the prescribed fee from 21 August to 5 pm of 22 August along with a late fee of Rs 2000.
Private candidates click the url ‘http://cbseit.in/cbse/web/comptt/default.aspx’ to apply for cmpartment examinations.
After the website downloads, they have to choose the appropriate link with regards to applying for the exam. If the candidate has to apply for 10th exam, they have click the appropriate link, if they have to apply for 12th exam, they have to click the link for 12th exams.
After clicking the required button, candidates have to enter their roll number, school number and exam centre number and the year of their exam and then proceed for applying.
Students have to keep their admit cards while applying for the exam as the details required to be provided in the application will be available on the admit cards.
After filling the application form private candidates can upload their scanned photo and image of their signature and then pay the fee.
After the entire application procedure is over, they can generate the final confirmation page and take a printout of it.
Regular candidates willing to apply for compartmental exams of classes 10 and 12 must go to their CBSE schools they have studied and seek for applying of LOC.
Only those students whose schools have applied for LOC through the url ‘http://cbse.nic.in/newsite/reg2020.html’ shall be allowed to appear for the compartment exams to be conducted in September.
Regular students of classes 10 and 12 who have appeared for the examinations in February/March 2020 as regular candidates and whose result has been declared as ‘Compartment’ can approach their CBSE schools.
LOC can be submitted by paying the fee of Rs 300 per subject if schools are within India, and if schools are outside India, the fee is Rs 2000 per subject.
The LOC can be applied by schools for the Central Board of Secondary Education compartmental exams from 13 August to 5 pm of 20 August.
Applicants who could not apply for LOC in the stipulated time can apply from 21 August to 5 pm of 22 August by paying a late fee of Rs 2000 along with the prescribed fee, says CBSE notification.
Private candidates of class 12 can apply for optional examination which will also be conducted in September by CBSE.
Candidates whose CBSE class 12 results have been declared based on assessment scheme in the subjects for which examination was supposed to be held from 1 to 15 July and who wish to improve their performance can apply for optional exams.
To apply for optional exam private candidates can go to the url ‘http://cbseit.in/cbse/web/comptt/default.aspx’ and click the button ‘IOP/NC’ written in white colour on blue background.
After clicking the button, they can keep their admit card of the previous exam and enter the roll number, school number, exam center number and their year of the exam and go ahead with applying for optional exam.
After filling the details, they can upload their photograph, image of their signature and press final submit button.
Post generation of final page, print out of the same must be taken and kept for future use. Candidates applying for optional exam need not pay any fee.
The option for submitting application for optional exams by Central Board of Secondary Education was thrown open on 13 August, the last date to apply for the optional exam is 5 pm of 22 August.
Central Board of Secondary Education notification said the facility to fill the application form for all the above said exams will run round-the-clock, candidates must make use of this opportunity and ensure timely submission.
The notification also says the dates in this regard are sacrosanct and no extension on any ground will be provided.
The dates for downloading the admit card will be informed later by Central Board of Secondary Education , however candidates are advised to visit the website of Central Board of Secondary Education regularly to keep track of developments including that of admit card.
In case of any discrepancy in the Admit card candidate should contact concerned Regional Office of the Board as per jurisdiction.
