The Central Board of Secondary Education, Department of Higher Education has started inviting applications for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for college and university students, CSSS from today, September 13. The eligible candidates can log on to fresh online applications or renewal scholarships on the National Scholarship Portal, scholarships.gov.in.
As stated in the CBSE notification, candidates have an opportunity for registration in fresh applications; first renewal for 2023; second renewal for 2022; third renewal for 2021; and fourth renewal for 2020. Application forms for renewal and fresh applications must be submitted before the last date, 31 October 2024.
All interested candidates are asked to apply before the last date of receipt and get verified by the institutes to ensure that the applications do not get cancelled. Candidates have to upload the list of original documents if required, failing which their application will be rendered invalid.
CBSE CSSS Scholarships 2024: Aims
The CBSE CSSS scholarships 2024 is sponsored by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education. Scheme Operational: The scheme has been operational since 2008. The objective of the CSSS scheme is to support meritorious students financially and, assist with their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies The applicant must have a family income of less than Rs 4.5 lakh per lakh per annum, to be eligible for the scheme.
CBSE CSSS Scholarships 2024
It aims at the allocation of 82,000 scholarships per year, out of which 41,000 shall be for boys and 41,000 for girls, which further has been divided among state education boards in relation to the state’s population in the age group of 18-25-year students.
Students who have secured above 80 percent in their relevant stream of education in Class 12 are eligible for the application. The candidates who are already availing of the benefit of some other scholarships are not eligible for this scheme.
Candidates shall get financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per annum for the first three years and Rs 20,000 per annum for the fourth and fifth years as per the scholarship scheme.
