CBSE10th and 12th class exams also will be conducted on a new date instead of their earlier planned dates. The decision behind the postponement is said to be the coronavirus scare which is bothering entire nation currently.
As per a notification on official website of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) the exams for classes 10 and 12 which were supposed to be held from 19 to 31 March (both dates inclusive) will now be rescheduled after 31 March.
Parents and teachers can access the notification at the url ‘http://cbse.nic.in/newsite/exam-postpone-2020.pdf’ It further says the decision was taken as a precautionary measure and in compliance of instructions received from Secretary, Department of Higher Education/School Education and Literacy, Government of India vide letter No. Secy(HE)/MHRD/2020 dated 18 March.
The notification further specifies that re-examination schedule for the candidates of schools of North East Delhi will also be rescheduled. Authorities concerned have urged all the schools to ensure that this information is dissseminated to their respective students.
The rescheduled dates will be informed by CBSE to all its stakeholder by 31 March after analysing the then situation. Evaluation work with regards to all ongoing board exams have also been stopped till 31 March.
The notification says all the centre nodal supervisors must ensure rescheduling of evaluation work from 1 April onwards unless otherwise informed by the Board.
