CAT 2023 registration last date is extended to 20 September 2023 from earlier 13 September. Candidates can apply at ‘iimcat.ac.in’ It is about the entrance exam for admissions into IIMs located across India.

Candidates desiring to study management programs at IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management or Indian Institute of Management) can apply for this exam.

CAT 2023 registration

Those who have successfully completed their CAT 2023 registration will only be able to download the admit card from 25 October 2023 onwards. The exam will be conducted on 26 November 2023.

The results for the exam will be tentatively declared in the second week of January 2024. The date for the result declaration will be informed on the official website in due course.

About the exam

The full name of the exam is Common Admission Test which is popularly known to all as CAT. It is conducted every year by one of IIMs located in India.

Who can take up CAT 2023 registration?

Candidates willing to take up CAT 2023 registration must have passed Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories].

Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also take up CAT 2023 registration.

However, they have to pass the exam and provide a proof for it by the time of admission process in IIMs commences.

1. The URL mentioned above must be typed into the browser and submitted to allow the website to download.

2. Once the website is ready, candidates can click the information brochure and know about the exam.

3. After reading the information, candidates can click the link for registration which will open another webpage.

4. When another webpage opens, candidates can provide the required information and create an account with username and password.

5. Post account creation, candidates can login and start applying for the exam.

Registration fee

Candidates have to pay CAT 2023 registration fee of Rs 2400 while applying for the exam. The same is Rs 1200 for candidates of ST/SC and PwD categories.

Candidate needs to pay the CAT 2023 registration fee only once, irrespective of the number of institutes he/she is applying for.

SC,ST and PwD candidates must upload a copy of their SC/ST/PwD certificates at the time of registration. Fees once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

Score cards

Candidate’s CAT 2023 scorecards will be made accessible on the CAT website. Candidates may also be intimated individually by SMS. The CAT results are likely to be declared by the second week of January,
2024.

The CAT 2023 score is valid only till December 31, 2024 and will accordingly be accessible on the website. Thereafter, no queries related to the issuance of CAT 2023 scorecards will be entertained.

1. Candidates have to visit the official website for the exam at ‘www.iimcat.ac.in’

2. Once the website is ready, candidates have to click the link for downloading hall ticket which may open another webpage.

3. When another webpage opens, candidates have to type their application number and other required information and submit them to obtain the admit card.

Exam pattern

CAT 2023 will be conducted online as a computer based test where the questions have to be answered on a computer screen at the test center.

Duration to complete answering is 2 hours or 120 minutes. The test will have questions related to Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA).

The exam will be conducted in three sessions – morning (8:30 AM to 10:30 AM), afternoon (12:30 PM to 2:30 PM) and evening (4:30 PM to 6:30 PM).
