CAT 2021 application process has commenced from August 4 and last date to apply is September 15.

The test day this time (for CAT 2021) is November 28. The admit cards for the exam would be available for download from 5 pm of October 27.

About the exam
CAT 2021 is expanded into Common Admission Test 2021. This is for those who wish to study management courses in the prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).

Individuals who wish to study management courses in IIMs located across the country have to pass this test.

Those who could not get a seat in IIMs can still benefit from CAT 2021.

The score of this exam is used by many non-IIM b-schools to provide admission into management courses offered by them.

Every year one of the popular IIMs (Indian Institute of Management) takes the turn to conduct this exam.

IIM Ahmedabad will be conducting CAT 2021. IIM Ahmedabad has commenced the CAT 2021 application submission process.

Before a prospective candidate makes a decision to submit CAT 2021 application, he/she must visit the official website or read the programme advertisement of the concerned IIM and specific programmes to ensure
accurate and updated information on the programmes he/she wants to apply for, including eligibility requirements and admission processes.

CAT 2021 scores are allowed to be used by listed non-IIM member institutions.

The list of non-IIM member institutions that have registered to avail of the CAT 2021 scores is provided at ‘www.iimcat.ac.in’

IIMs have no role in the selection process of non-IIM institutions.

Applicants are requested to regularly visit the official website ‘www.iimcat.ac.in’ even after they submit CAT 2021 application for updates regarding the exam schedule and other issues concerning the test.

Eligibility
Individuals wishing to submit CAT 2021 application must have passed a bachelors degree in any discipline from a recognised educational institution.

Those wishing to submit CAT 2021 application must be having a 50 percent pass marks in their qualifying exam or its equal CGPA.

The same for candidates from SC/ST/PwD category candidates must have a pass percentage of 45 percent or its equal CGPA in the qualifying exam.

Even individuals who are appearing for the final exam of their qualifying exam can also submit CAT 2021 application.

However, by the time of admission, they should be able to submit marksheets and required certificates that they have passed the exam.

If any University/Institution confirms that there is no scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100.

Candidates should note that the mere fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criteria would not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IIMs.

How to apply
The procedure to submit CAT 2021 application is online.

Individuals have to visit the official website ‘https://iimcat.ac.in/per/g01/pub/756/ASM/WebPortal/1/index.html?756@@1@@1’ and click the button ‘Register’ located on right side of the webpage below the banner.

Post clicking ‘Register’ and completing the registration process to obtain username and password, candidates have to come to the same official website where they took up registration and must login with help of the username and password and start submitting CAT 2021 application.

They have to provide the required data, upload needed documents and pay the registration fee and then submit CAT 2021 application form.

Once the OTP is verified, the User ID and the Password will be sent on the registered email address and or on the registered mobile number to complete the registration process.

Overseas candidates will receive the OTP on their email address only.

Once the OTP is verified, both the User ID and Password will be sent to the registered email address.

Using these credentials, you can login as a Registered User to fill up CAT 2021 application form.

Applicants do not have to complete the application form in a single session.

Applicants can save their current session and login later to complete their CAT 2021 Application form.

This can be done multiple times.

The documents to be uploaded while filling CAT 2021 application form are:

# Community certificate if applicable in case of SC/ST or NC-OBC

# PwD category candidates need to upload required PwD certificate

# 10th class marksheets, 12th class marksheets, degree exam marksheets and relevant documents if required

# Documents regarding work experience in case applicants have worked in any organisation

# Scanned image of candidate’s signature

# Photograph of the candidate

Important dates
The start date for submitting CAT 2021 application is 10 am of August 4.

The last date to submit CAT 2021 application form is 5 pm of September 15.

The admit card is available for download from 5 pm of October 27 onwards. The exam day is November 28.

The result would likely be announced in the second week of January 2022.

Exam pattern
CAT 2021 is a computer based test where applicants have read the questions on a computer screen and choose the right reply on the same screen.

There will be 76 questions in the exam and will be divided into three sections.

Section 1 will have questions related to verbal ability and reading comprehension, Section 2 will have questions related to Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Section 3 has questions related to Quantitative Ability.

Candidates have to answer questions in each section in 40 minutes time.
