BTech Space Science and Engineering is the new course introduced at IIT Indore recently.
The new academic program will be offered by the Department of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Engineering (DAASE) at the institution.

This new course is being introduced during the academic year 2023-24.
BTech Space Science and Engineering will be offered by Department of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Engineering at IIT Indore.
Who can apply for BTech Space Science and Engineering
Students willing to apply for BTech Space Science and Engineering course must have passed plus-two from a recognized educational institution.
Subjects in plus-two should be maths, physics and chemistry.
Applicants must have also passed JEE Advanced exam with the required qualifying marks to be eligible for admission into BTech Space Science and Engineering at IIT Indore.
Admission process
Students have to pass JEE Advanced exam with the required qualifying marks which are also known as cutoff marks.
The cutoff score is the minimum marks candidates have to score to be eligible for admission or final selection.
The marks of the candidates have to be either greater than the cutoff or equal to it.
Students who pass JEE Advanced with the required qualifying marks can take part in the counselling.
The counselling process is conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).
Candidates can choose to study BTech Space Science and Engineering at IIT Indore during the counselling.

BTech in Space Science and Engineering includes the study and prediction of climate change, communication, navigation, defense, security, survey, agriculture, environment, ecology, and astronomy.
About the department
The Department of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Space Engineering (DAASE) was established in 2015 as an interdisciplinary division at IIT Indore.
Its focus is on a wide range of research topics in the domain of Astronomy and Space weather and navigation studies.
Great efforts are made here not only in the research aspect but also in the arena of astronomy outreach.
This interdisciplinary division is a unique department among all IITs that offers a dedicated and focused platform to pursue research in Astronomy and space sciences.
This is an institute of national importance established by the Government of India in 2009.
Since, February 2016, IIT Indore has started functioning from its permanent campus.
All the Administrative Offices, basic science labs and engineering Labs are all established on this campus.
The Central Library is also situated on this campus.
