BITS Design School Admission 2025 application can be submitted till 31 January 2025 at ‘https://www.bitsdesign.edu.in/admissions/’ for the first round.
It is about Birla Institute of Technology And Science School of Design also known as BITS Design School or BITS School of Design.
Over the last 3 years, BITS Pilani has expanded from Technology into Management and Legal Education with BITS School of Management (BITSoM) established in 2021 and BITS Law School (BITSLAW) in 2023, respectively.
BITS Design School Admission 2025 is about applying to study BDes Hons – bachelors in design hons course at the institution. It is a four year duration course.
Streams
BDes Hons course is offered with specializations in Physical Product Design, Digital Product Design (UX/UI), Human Centered Design, Experience Design and Visual Design.
Students who get a seat in the institution through this BITS Design School Admission 2025 can choose can any one of the specialization mentioned above.
Who can apply for BITS Design School Admission 2025?
Those desiring to apply for BITS Design School Admission 2025 must have passed plus two in any stream with a pass percentage of 45 at the minimum.
Applicants for BITS Design School Admission 2025 must have passed their qualifying exam from a recognized educational institution anywhere in India.
They must also have passed NID DAT prelims or UCEED entrance exams along with their qualifying exam. Those who do not pass these exams have to appear for BITSDAT (BITS Design Aptitude Test).
The BITS DAT is a 1-hour test designed to check the design concept aptitude, logical reasoning ability, nonverbal reasoning and English language skills of candidates seeking admission to the B Des (Honours) programme.
The test will be conducted online.
Selection process
UCEED or NID DAT prelims
Candidates who have passed NID DAT prelims or UCEED can submit applications on the website official website. They have to submit their marks in NID DAT prelims or UCEED while applying for BITS Design School Admission 2025.
Candidates who are shortlisted have to present their physical or digital portfolio showcasing their design around a topic sent to them. The topics for the portfolio will be individually sent to the students who are shortlisted.
Those selected for the portfolio round will be interviewed about their individual portfolios, it may include drawings, sketches, digital designs, photographs.
The portfolio should be a reflection of the applicant’s creativity, design and problem solving skills. In in the interview, candidates should be able to explain how did they go about creating their portfolio.
They may be asked about the tools, software, or techniques they used.
The interview may include questions about the applicant’s understanding of design principles, materials, and industry trends.
Students who are shortlisted will receive an offer, they can accept it and pay the fees and join the course.
BITSDAT
Those who do not pass NID DAT prelims or UCEED have to pass BITSDAT after submitting the initial application for BITS Design School Admission 2025.
Applicants have to pass BITSDAT with required qualifying marks to get shortlisted for portfolio interview. The process from here is the same as for the candidates who have passed NID DAT prelims or UCEED.
