Avinya Contest For School Children: Register Till 21 October 2024
Avinya, the contest for classes 8 to 12 students is open for registration at ‘https://www.verandak12.com/avinya’ till 21 October 2024 for Round 1.
Those interested can register for participating in the contest through the URL mentioned above. Avinya aims at enhancing innovative abilities in school students.
Who is organizing Avinya?
Aim of the event (Avinya) is to identify and nurture the next generation of young innovators and is being organized by Veranda K-12 which is a part of Veranda Learning Solutions.
Venues
Indore, Jaipur, Noida, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Mangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Jammu, Guntur, Chennai, Bengaluru, Coimbatore and Trichy are the cities where Avinya will be conducted this year.
Platform
The contest will provide a platform for these young minds to channel their creativity into practical solutions for global and local issues.
What to do in the event?
Participants have to come up with innovative ideas that are aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of United Nations.
They have to come up with innovative ideas to tackle real-world challenges. This exciting initiative is designed to unite students with a passion for creativity and problem-solving.
There will be three rounds in Avinya – Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3.
Candidates have to register for Round 1 with the help of URL mentioned above before 21 October 2024.
Candidates who are selected from Round 1 will have to take part in Round 2 of Avinya where they can present their ideas to a distinguished jury at a host school close to their city.
The top ideas will move forward to the Grand Finale which is Round 3 and will be held on the national level on 6 and 7 December 2024 at IIIT Bangalore.
Top 3 teams from the regional round will showcase their ideas in the Round 3 of Avinya contest.
How to Apply For Avinya?
The process to apply for Avinya is online and candidates have to visit the website with help of URL ‘https://www.verandak12.com/avinya’
The process is mentioned below for the sake of the students:
1. Type the URL mentioned above in the browser and submit to allow the website to download.
2. Once the webpage is ready, candidates can click Register Now button to go to the application form for Avinya or scroll down the webpage to reach the application form.
3. Students have to fill details like their name, school name and address, SDG on which they would prefer to work out innovative solution and others and submit the application form.
After Application
The students who have submitted application for Avinya have to take part in the Round 1 and present their ideas to distinguished jury and those selected will take part in Round 3 which will be conducted in second week of November 2024.
Those who pass Round 2 will go for Round 3 which will the grand finale which will be conducted at IIIT Bangalore on 6 and 7 December 2024.
Boot camp will be held on 6 December 2024 and the grand finale will be conducted on 7 December 2024.
Jury Panel
The jury panel includes distinguished personalities such as Mr. Bhavin Shah (CEO, Education World), Mr. Prateek Madhav (Co-founder, AssisTech Foundation).
It also includes Mr. Sunil Acharya (India Lead, AWS), Ms. Gayatri Chauhan (CEO, BuzzOnEarth) and Mr. Rajesh Pankaj (CPO, Veranda Learning Solutions).

Candidates willing to take part in Avinya must remember the points mentioned below:
Originality: All submissions must be original and the work of the participants.
Plagiarism or copying from other sources will result in disqualification.
Use of Submissions: By submitting their ideas, participants grant the organizers permission to use, display, and promote their submissions for competition-related purposes.
Judging Criteria: Entries will be evaluated based on creativity, feasibility, impact on the sdgs, and presentation quality. The judges’ decisions are final and binding.
Confidentiality: While efforts will be made to protect intellectual property, participants should avoid sharing sensitive or proprietary information.
Eligibility: only students currently in grades 8 to 12 are eligible. Proof of grade level and age may be required.
Liability: The organizers are not responsible for any technical issues, loss of data, or other disruptions affecting submissions.
Content Sensitivity: All submissions must respect animal and environmental sensitivity.
Inappropriate language, images, or content will result in disqualification.
Submissions must also adhere to secular principles and avoid promoting any specific religious or political agenda.
