Application invited for BSF posts – Applications have been invited from eligible candidates for filling up the posts of Sub-Inspector (Master), Sub-Inspector (Engine Driver), SI (Workshop) and Head Constable (Master), Head Constable (Engine Driver), Head Constable (Workshop) and Constable (Crew) in water wing of Border Security Force (BSF).
Sources say, there are about 317 vacancies that are spread across these posts. Candidates willing to write the exam must note that the opening date for Offline Application was 17 February. Offline application closing date is 16 March.

Offline application closing date for North eastern states like Sikkim, Ladakh, Lahaul and Spiti Districts and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands or the Union Territory of Lakshadweep is 30 March.

Date for the written test will be notified later. The date for second phase of interview which comprises documentation, physical measurement, physical efficiency test, trade test and medical exam will also be notified later.

Syllabus to be studied, details about physical fitness and medical standards can also be accessed from that website.
Application invited for BSF posts – The written test will have multiple choice questions in OMR format, where candidates will have to darken the circles which represent answers for a question with help of a pencil. The written test is common for the post Sub-Inspector (Master), Sub-Inspector (ED) and Sub-Inspector (Workshop). Similarly, the test is common for post of Head Constable in Master, ED, Workshop and Crew sections.

Minimum qualifying marks in the written test for General, OBC and EWS candidates is 35% and for candidates from SC and ST categories is 33%. The question papers will be in Hindi and English. Candidates who pass the written exam have to appear for the second phase. The centres for the second phase for SI and HC (Workshop) post applicants are Madhopur, Bhuj, Hasnabad and Dhubri.
For SI and HC (Master and Engine Driver) second phase centres are Bhuj, Hasnabad and Dhubri. For CT (crew) applicants second phase centres are Madhopur, Bhuj, Hasnabad, Dhubri and Silchar. Candidates must remember that usage of performance enhancement drugs is not allowed during the physical efficiency test. Any amount of usage of the drugs will be treated as disqualification.
