2020 NEET UG JEE Mains, these two popular exams will now be held in the month of September. They have been postponed once again.
2020 NEET UG will be held on 13 September while JEE Mains will be conducted from 1 to 6 of the same month. The reason behind this postponement is the rise in corona virus cases.
Union Minister of Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank also made an announcement regarding the postponement of 2020 NEET UG JEE Mains on his Twitter account.
‘Keeping in mind the safety of students and to ensure quality education we have decided to postpone JEE and NEET examinations. JEE Main examination will be held between 1st to 6th September, JEE Advanced will be held on 27th Sept and NEET examination will be held on 13th September.’
The one mentioned above is the message of Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
It is more than three months ago that the entire nation came under the influence of corona virus and its spread began across all major locations in this country.
Lockdown was imposed to curb the outbreak of the virus, the result was that affairs came to a standstill across the nation.
Things refused to move ahead on the economic arena and while everything came to a standstill on the academic front.
Whole lot of exams got postponed and 2020 NEET UG JEE Mains was not an exemption. This year is really a different one with regards to education as things did not move as per the plan.
2020 NEET UG JEE Mains should have been conducted by now. But the corona virus had led to their postponement.
Sources say, both the tests had been postponed for two times since the outbreak of corona virus. JEE Main was actually scheduled between 7 and 11 April, NEET UG was to be conducted on 3 May. This did not happen.
After lot of speculation, Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank announced the new dates for 2020 NEET UG JEE Mains.
It was on 5 May that the new dates for 2020 NEET UG JEE Mains came out during a webinar. Union HRD Minister said that JEE Mains would be held between 18 to 23 July and NEET will be conducted on 26 July.
Even CBSE board exams for pending papers were fixed in July. However they were cancelled. From then on speculation about conducting 2020 NEET UG JEE Mains reached its peak.
Now the fresh announcement has come from Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. With this all the speculation about the exam has come to a rest.
Sources further say that this decision to conduct 2020 NEET UG JEE Mains on the new dates was taken based on inputs received from a committee comprising four members which is under the leadership of Director General of NTA Vineet Joshi.
Soon after the announcement about change in the dates for 2020 NEET UG JEE Mains, praises began to pour in from the students and parents.
T.G. Sudhakar, a biology lecturer in a private college said the situation is not yet condusive to conduct the exam taking into account the fact that the cases of corona virus have been on rise.

In view of the current situation arising from COVID-19 pandemic, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided that the JEE Main 2020 will now be held during 1 to 6 September 2020 from 9.00 AM to 12.00 noon in the first shift and from 3.00 PM to 06.00 PM in the second shift.
The dates of downloading of Admit Cards indicating Roll Number and Centre of Examination will be displayed 15 days before the conduct of examination on the official websites of NTA (www.nta.ac.in) and JEE(Main) (jeemain.nta.nic.in).

Candidates can also note that the facility for correction in the Candidate Particulars in the Online Application Form including Choice of Centre Cities will be made operational on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in from 4 to 15 July.
The candidates are advised to visit the website and verify their particulars and make necessary corrections wherever required.
Corrections in the particulars in the Online Application Forms shall be accepted upto 05.00 PM
and submission of fee upto 11.50 PM.
The NTA will make efforts to allot city of examination to the candidates in order of the choices now opted by them in their Application Form, subject to the availability of capacity in the desired city.
However, due to administrative reasons, a different city may be allotted, and the decision of the NTA regarding allotment of Centre City shall be final.
In case, any additional fee payment is required depending on the changes made in the Application Form, the final update will be reflected only after the payment. The requisite (additional) fee, if applicable, can be paid through Credit/Debit Card/ Net Banking/UPI and PAYTM.
The candidates are requested to undertake the correction very carefully as no further chance of will be provided to the candidates.
