Vedantu will work in tandem with various NGOs who are working on the ground for the welfare of children that are affected by COVID-19.
These organizations will ensure that resources are provided to the affected children as soon as possible in a transparent manner.
Vedantu’s objective through the Help India Learn initiative is to assist students who are unable to access for-profit ed-tech due to financial constraints or a digital divide.
Vedantu intends to use the pledged fund in the following ways:
# A part of the fund will be disbursed through partner organizations to help them assist the impacted children that include food, shelter, educational devices, and school fees.
# Assist children with free education on Vedantu to help them continue learning across multiple years.
Pulkit Jain, Co-founder & Product Head, Vedantu said the nationwide school closures have already disrupted learning for children and there is an urgent need to invest in our children to mitigate the impact of this pandemic.
While the pandemic brought to the forefront the digital divide as far as K12 education is concerned, the worst impact is on kids who have lost their parents or an earning member of the family, he said.
This is a time for all of us to come together to do our bit to ensure we tide over this crisis. Internally many of our employees came forward to contribute towards this initiative.
The safety and well-being of children are of utmost importance and therefore, we have taken necessary steps that will not only protect their future but also safeguard their present, said Pulkit Jain of Vedantu.
The Help India Learn initiative offers various partnerships such as:

To overcome the exhaustion that the second wave has brought upon, Vedantu has introduced initiatives for their employees’ mental and physical well-being.
Vedantu is taking effective measures and has set up a Covid emergency fund which can be utilized by the employees for their medical treatment, oxygen cylinders, hospital beds, ambulance service, etc.
Vedantu’s ‘Aarohan’ is a mental health care initiative, where employees take part in mediation and yoga sessions to alleviate their minds and destress.
Aarohan is equipped with an in-house counseling team, that the employees can reach out to at any given point in time and have one-on-one counseling sessions.
In order to address employee queries, Vedantu has commenced WhatsApp and email helpline services which are aggressively monitored by a dedicated team to reach out to the affected employees and provide them with all necessary details timely.
Additionally, the company has tied up with insurance and health care service providers to support employees especially in Tier 2-3 cities to help them secure a hospital bed or get medical help.
To provide additional support to the employees and their families who are concerned about Covid-19, Vedantu has set up a 24/7 online healthcare consultant including psychological counseling as well as concierge services that will allow employees to request a doctor-on-call, get health check-ups done, and other health plan-related queries.
