Tamilnadu state 10th exam: Great over 12,000 centres to be set up
Tamilnadu state 10th exam is also now a focus point and over 10,000 exam centres will be established to help students write the exam.
Conducting Tamilnadu state 10th exam this year is going to be a unique experience. Needless to say, outbreak of corona virus has bestowed this uniqueness and unlike last year, this year Tamilnadu state 10th exam has to be conducted ensuring the safety of students in terms of health.
First thing to be done with regards to Tamilnadu state 10th exam is to ensure social distancing. To make this possible, over 12,000 exam centres are said to be established to help students write the exam.
Each exam room in an examination centre will have 10 students who will be writing Tamilnadu state 10th exam. A good distance between every two students will be kept to ensure the mandatory social distancing norms are followed.
Tamilnadu Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan said over 3000 exam centres were established last year, however, taking into consideration the COVID 19 situation this year the number of examinatin centres is being increased.
Tamilnadu state 10th exam were supposed to be held from 1 to 15 July, this schedule was later postponed and and the new exam schedule was fixed from 15 to 25 July.
That’s not all, students can write Tamilnadu state 10th exam in the schools they have studied. This will do away the ordeal of travelling long distances for students.
This year over 9.5 lakh students are expected to write the exam. It is even worth recollecting that there was demand from certain quarters to further postpone the Tamilnadu state 10th exam as the situation is not apt as of now.
Education Minister Sengottaiyan further said that all teachers must come to their schools on 21 May to ensure availability of students for the exams.
Even special transportation will be arranged to ensure students are brought back to hostels. They can stay in their hostels and write the exams, said Tamilnadu Education Minister.
Hall-tickets will be provided online, Collectors have been asked to disinfect the examination centres, said Minister Sengottaiyan.
Matters are not restricted to that alone. Sources further say that exam centres for Tamilnadu state 10th exam will not be established in containment zones.
For students from containment zone, separate exam centres will be provided for them to write Tamilnadu state 10th exam.
Hall tickets will be sent to these students before exams begin, they need not come out of their homes to collect the admit cards.
Candidates who have to write Tamilnadu state 10th exam can come out of the containment areas by showing their identity cards and hall-tickets, say sources.
Exam candidates who are stuck in other localities can travel to their exam centres along with their parents or guardians without a pass if they are carrying their ID cards and hall-tickets.
The matters do not remain restricted to Tamilnadu state 10th exam alone. Examinations for 11th and 12th classes are also to be conducted. About 8 lakh candidates are expected to write 11th class exams in over 7,400 centres.
About 36,089 students who missed their plus-two exam previously will also writing their exams. Exams for 11th standard will begin on 16 June, reexamination for stranded 12th class exams will be held from 18 June onwards.
Over 1 lakh teachers are being put into service to conduct the examinations. Post examination scenario over about 43,000 teachers will be involved in evaluation of class 12 exam answersheets while about 60,000 teachers will evaluate the answersheets of 10th class exams.
Exam centres and evaluation areas will be disinfected twice during a day. First time will be in the morning before teachers arrive for evaluation, second time disinfectant spray will be done after teachers leave.
Helplines will be established in all the districts under the aegis of Chief Education Officer. These numbers will be printed on the hall-tickets, candidates in case of any need can call these helpline numbers.
Candidates will also receive the helpline numbers on their mobile phones, they can call them during working hours from 8 am to 6 pm to in they have queries regarding exams.
Results have always been quite satisfactory in Tamilnadu with regards to 10th exams. The pass percentage with regards to Tamilnadu state 10th exam has always been over 90 percent and above.
For the past couple of years Tamilnadu is a state which has been witnessing higher pass percentage among girls also. This year too, the same performance is expected.
