The usual method of gaining an engineering seat in SRMIST was not followed this year. The main reason for that was the outbreak of corona virus.

Instead of the usual practice, admissions into SRMIST for 2020 were being done based on score registered in plus-two exams or its equivalent particularly in Maths, Physics and Chemistry or Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

The top 10 among those who applied for admissions in SRMIST are from diverse backgrounds.

They are Ekkaluri Harshitha (Andhra Pradesh), R. Sanjay (Karnataka), Abhinav Tripathi (Rajasthan), Dharshin Balakrishnan (Tamil Nadu).

Also, Shivam Kumar (Bihar), Arun Martin (Kerala), Ajay Parmar (Madhya Pradesh), Rudr Kesar (Jammu and Kashmir), Mayank Singh (Uttar Pradesh) and Hil Savani, (Gujarat) emerged as toppers in the all India Top 10 Rank list.

Sources from SRMIST further said the top 100 rank holders will be given Founder’s Scholarship with 100 percent tuition fee and hostel fee waiver.

The top 101 to 500 rank holders will be awarded SRM Merit Scholarship with 100% tuition fee waiver. SRMIST also offers an incredible range of scholarships to the tune of Rs 40 Crores benefiting more than 3200 students every year, making studying in the university affordable to all.

The next procedure in the SRMIST admission process is the rankings along with the allocated branch will be sent to successful candidates on their registered emailID and mobile number.

Based on the seat availability, SRMIST will conduct online – counselling in the coming days.

In view of high preference to join SRMIST, counselling is only planned for the top 50,000 Ranks.

The SRM Ranking is applicable for B. Tech admission in all campuses of SRMIST located at Kattankulathur (Main Campus, Chennai Area), Vadapalani and Ramapuram in Chennai city and Delhi – NCR, SRM University, AP – Andhra Pradesh, SRM University, Sonepat– Haryana and SRM University, Sikkim.
