The vacancy spread
Southern Railway Recruitment drive will fill vacancies for the above mentioned posts. The list of vacancies for each post are 72 for contract medical practitioners, 120 for nursing staff, 24 for lab technician, 24 for radiographer, 120 for hospital assistant and 240 for housekeeping assistant. The total number of vacancies for this Southern Railway Recruitment is 600.

Contract medical practitioner
Applicant must be an MBBS and should be registered with the Indian Medical Council. Two years experience is desirable. Specialization in Anaesthesia/ Physician/Intervisitors will be given preference.

Nursing staff
Applicant must be certified as a registered nurse and a midwife should also have passed three years course in General Nursing and Midwifery from School of Nursing or other Institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council or B.Sc(Nursing). Applicants with experience in handling ICU/Dialysis Unit/Ventilators are preferrable.

Lab Assistant
Applicant should be a plus-two pass with Science as subject and also must have a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) from a recognised university.

Radiographer
Applicants must be a 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry and Diploma in Radiography/X-Ray Technician/Radio diagnosis Technology (2 years course) from recognized institution. Science graduates with Diploma in Radiography/XRay Technician /Radio diagnosis Technology (2 years course) shall be preferred.

Hospital Attendant
Applicant must be a pass in 10th standard and have experience in handling ICU/Dialysis Unit. Candidates with experience in these units will be preferred.

Housekeeping assistant
Candidates should be 10th passed.

Students have to pay Rs 1350 as fee while taking up VITEEE 2025 application submission. The application form can be submitted after paying the registration fee.

VITEEE for B.E/B.Tech programs will have a total of 125 questions constituting 125 marks. The no. of questions is given as Mathematics/Biology-40 questions, Physics-35 questions, Chemistry-35 questions, Aptitude-10 questions and English-5 questions.

Vellore Institute of Technology will conduct VITEEE 2025 exam for 2 hours and 30 minutes duration.

All the questions shall be multiple choice type; each correct answer shall have one mark and there is no negative marking for incorrect ones. 

Candidates who are wishing to take up science oriented courses have to attempt questions related to maths, physics and chemistry.

Post preparation

Candidates have to appear for VITEEE 2025 and then pass it with required qualifying marks to be eligible for the next phase of the admission process.

The phase after written exam is counselling, those who have passed the written exam with required qualifying marks can take part in the counselling where candidates get to choose the college and course they wish to study.

Counselling is usually conducted in more than one round, those who get a seat in the initial rounds can pay the fees and join the classes.
