Result of NEET UG 2021: What to do after the great result?
Result of NEET UG 2021 has been declared and now the focus is on what happens after the great exam. The process towards taking admission in medical colleges begins after the release of result of NEET UG 2021.
Prior to NEET UG exam, undergraduate medical admissions used to be done in different ways in each state. Medical admission in undergraduate course (MBBS) in certain states of India used to be done based on performance in the 12th class exams, the marks in biology, physics and chemistry used to taken into account for admissions.

How to check result of NEET UG 2021
The result of NEET UG 2021 is available on the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) which conducted the exam.
Candidates can visit the official website of the exam ‘https://neet.nta.nic.in/’ and soon after the webpage downloads, candidates can see two buttons titled ‘View Result (Server I)’ and ‘View Result (Server II)’
Students can click any of the above buttons and enter their NEET exam application number, date of birth and security pin (which would be mentioned below) and submit them to view the result of NEET UG 2021.
Post result
After the result of NEET UG 2021 is visible on the screen, students can check for accuracy in the information on the score card. In case if there is no error, students can download the marksheet and take a printout and preserve it for future use.

If there are any mistakes with regards to information on the score card, candidates must take it to the notice of authorities concerned for rectifications.

Students who have checked their result of NEET UG 2021 must remember that NEET exam is not for undergraduate medical (MBBS) admissions alone.
The score is used for admission into Dental (BDS), AYUS (Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani), Veterinary Sciences (BVSc and AH) and BSc Nursing courses.
About 15 percent of seats are filled on all India level and rest are filled under state quota level. Counselling for medical admission in All India Quota is done by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) which comes under Directorate General of Health Services of Government of India.
Candidates can visit the website of MCC at ‘https://www.mcc.nic.in/#/home’ and click the required link for applying for counselling. The link for applying would be made active at the appropriate time.
State quota
Students who have got the required score after the release of result of NEET UG 2021 can also visit the websites of respective counselling authorities of the states they reside and apply.
However, students willing to apply for the state quota must remember that medical seats in the state quota are usually open for students who are residents of the particular state.
Universities
Students who have checked the result of NEET UG 2021 exam and have ensured themselves of the required score can also apply for Deemed and Central Universities also to study medicine.
Well-known Central Universities in our country are Alighar Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University, Jamia Millia Islamia and students can apply to study medicine here also.
The counselling process would be usually conducted by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and students have to apply for it as per the schedule released. DGHS can be visited on the website ‘https://dghs.gov.in/’
AYUSH and Veterinary Sciences
The website for applying for counselling with regards to AYUSH (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy) seats is ‘https://aaccc.gov.in/’ The website for applying for counselling for veterinary science (BVSc and AH) would be announced soon.
Point to remember
The commence of counselling would be announced on all well-known media establishments, news papers or news websites. Students focusing on counselling after knowing the result of NEET UG 2021 can follow the above mentioned sources regularly for more information.
Candidates have to visit the website and click the respective link and provide the required information and pay the required fees and upload the required documents and submit the form.
Soon after the forms are submitted, authorities begin allotting seats taking into account the result of NEET UG 2021 (marks of the applicant in NEET exam), availability of seats.

Candidates who have got the seats can visit the respective colleges or authorities concerned and confirm their acceptance of admission and pay the fees and join the college.
Those who could not secure a seat in the first round of counselling can take part in the subsequent rounds.
Documents
Students have to upload their result of NEET UG 2021 exam (score card), 10th and 12th class marksheets, category certificate (if applicable) and it is for students who wish to claim privileges like reservation, their photograph and scanned image of their signature.
Students applying for medical admission counselling in state quota have to even attach domicile certificate. This certificate is required to show that the applicant is the native of that particular state in which he is applying for a medical seat.

Students can refer to the instructions available on the respective websites before they begin filling the application for counselling.
AIR 1 was won by Mrinal Kutteri, Tanmay Gupta and Karthika G Nair by a score of 720/720 marks. The number of candidates who have appeared for the exam are 15.44 lakh candidates.
Result of NEET UG 2021 has shown that over 8.70 lakh candidates have qualified. That is not all as far as result of NEET UG 2021 is concerned. The AIR 5 is being shared by 12 candidates. About 21 candidates have got AIR 21.
The number of girl candidates who have passed NEET UG exam this year are more than that of the boys. Result of NEET UG 2021 has shown that the number of girls passing the exam continued to be higher this year too.
The number of boys who passed the exam are 3,75,260 while the number of girls who passed stood at 4,94,806.
The cutoff
The cutoff marks or marks required to get a seat to study medicine is also out along with the result of NEET UG 2021. The cutoff marks for this year unreserved category students or open category students is 720-138. The same for students from reserved categories (SC,ST and OBC) is 137-108.
