NATA 2022: For those willing to study great Architecture
NATA 2022 is an exam for students who wish to study architecture course in the finest institutions in India.
The dates for this exam have not been announced yet. However, that does not mean one cannot prepare for it.

About the exam
NATA 2022 is expanded into National Aptitude Test in Architecture 2022. This is a national level entrance exam conducted by Council of Architecture (COA).
Candidates who pass this exam will be able to gain admission in reputed colleges across the country to study architecture at undergarduate level.
About COA
The Council of Architecture (CoA) has been constituted by the Government of India under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972.
This Act was enacted by the Parliament of India and came into force with effect from
1 September, 1972.
The Act provides for registration of architects, standards of education, recognized
qualifications and standards of professional conduct and etiquette to be complied with by the architects.
The COA is vested with the responsibility of maintaining the register of architects on national basis as well as regulating the Architecture education and practice of Architecture profession throughout India.
For this purpose, the Government of India has framed Rules and Council has framed Regulations as provided for in the Architects Act, with the approval of Government of India.
Any person desirous of carrying on the profession as ‘Architect’ must have registration with COA.

Students who have passed diploma (10+3) with maths as one of the subjects can also apply for the exam.
Even candidates who are appearing for their plus-two or 10+3 in 2022 can also apply for NATA 2022.
Point to remember
Applicants for NATA 2022 must have passed their qualifying exams (plus-two or 10+3) with 50 percent pass marks.
The minimum pass percentage in plus-two or 10+3 exams must be 50 percent.
Important dates
The notification about NATA 2022 may be tentatively out in February 2022.
The registration will likely begin in March next year.
The last date to submit application is likely to be in April next year.
The NATA 2022 exam is likely to be conducted in first week of April or May.
The results of NATA 2022 exam will be out by last week of April or May.
The date of examination
NATA 2022 could be conducted once or twice depending on the situation.
If situations require, NATA 2022 could be conducted two times. However, that depends on the authorities concerned to decide.
They would decide taking into account situations in vogue then.

In case the NATA 2022 is to be conducted two times, candidates can register for the exam either once or twice, depending on their convenience.
Applicants can click the appropriate link for registration on the above said official website and start registration.
Post registration, candidates would obtain username and password. Using them, candidates can login and start applying for NATA 2022.
Candidates can provide the required information, upload the required documents and pay the registation fee and submit the application for NATA 2022.
Registration fee
The registration fee for NATA 2022 applicants who belong to general category (Open/Forward Category -OC/FC) have to pay Rs 2,000.
The same for SC/ST and transgender applicants is Rs 1500.
Point to remember
If NATA 2022 is conducted two times and applicants willing to register for both the times have to pay the double the usual registration fee.
Example, if candidate pays Rs 2000 for registering for NATA 2022 once, he or she will be paying Rs 4000 for registering for both the times.

# 10th class marksheets
# 12th class marksheets
# Category certificate (if applicable) for claiming privileges like reservation
# Passport photograph of the candidate
# Scanned image of candidate’s signature
Point to remember
The photograph must be of 4 to 100 kb in size. The signature image must be of 1 to 30 kb in size.
The questions in multiple choice format have to be answered in 180 minutes (three hours).
The questions are of 1, 2 or 3 marks and medium of the test will be English.
The syllabus
The questions related to maths, physics, chemistry usually taught at plus-two level in educational institutions located across India will be asked in the exam.
Also questions related to geometry, language and interpretation, elements and principles of design, aesthetic sensitivity, colour theory, lateral thinking and logical reasoning, visual perception and cognition, graphics and imagery, building anatomy and architectural vocabulary, basic techniques of building construction and knowledge of material, general knowledge and current affairs would be asked in the exam.
The aptitude of the candidate will be assessed using some or all of the following techniques:
• Diagrammatic Reasoning – Tests the ability of logical reasoning, using diagrams and scenarios
• Numerical Reasoning – Tests mathematical ability through simple problems
• Verbal Reasoning – Assesses the ability to assess verbal logic.
• Inductive Reasoning – Tests the ability to see patterns and analyse given data
• Situational Judgment – Tests problem-solving ability.
• Logical Reasoning – Tests ability to recognise patterns, sequences or relationships between shapes and imagery.
• Abstract Reasoning – Will assess general knowledge, and ability to utilise knowledge in new situations.
