Dr. Nirvikar Dashora and Himanshu S. Sethi led a strong group of NARL-ISRO experts who managed the GNSS infrastructure installation. A laptop, iron mast, 30M RF wire, antenna, and GNSS receiver are all part of the system. This project is a component of the joint research initiatives run by NARL, which include GNSS receiver networks at several universities and governmental institutes.

Integrating with the NARL North-South network of receivers, the GNSS receiver at MRU supports important research on planetary ionospheres, space weather, climate, and weather. In order to promote interdisciplinary research in atmospheric and space sciences, the event included a sensitization session led by NARL scientists regarding the GNSS receiver and its applications.

Pioneering Space and Atmospheric Research: Manav Rachna University and NARL- ISRO’s Historic Partnership

Manav Rachna University gains a lot of advantages from the GNSS receiver installation. It makes multi-parametric data collecting easier, which improves atmospheric sciences and associated subjects’ research capacities. MRU will participate in national and international cooperative initiatives as a member of the NARL receiver network.

Significant advantages are also provided by this program for student projects and learning, particularly for those in the departments of sciences, computer science engineering (CSE), and electronics and communication engineering (ECE). Students will have practical exposure to real-time data analysis and state-of-the-art technology.

The Vice-Chancellor of Manav Rachna University, Prof. (Dr.) Deependra Kumar Jha, acknowledged his delight in this accomplishment, saying, “A landmark achievement is the installation of a GNSS receiver in collaboration with NARL and ISRO.” This highlights our dedication to leading the way in atmospheric and space research, as does our recently founded space research facility.
