Eligibility
Individuals willing to apply for IIMC 2021 admission must have passed a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.

Candidates who are appearing for their final year exams of their bachelors degree can also apply.

However, they have to provide the certificate and marksheets by the time they report for admission.

The applicants for IIMC 2021 admission must be 25 years of age as on 1 August 2021 if they are from General Category.

Applicants from SC/ST/PwD categories can be 30 years of age as on 1 August 2021. The applicants from OBC categories must be 28 years as on 1 August 2021.

The eligibility conditions for NRI sponsored candidates or NRI candidates willing to apply for IIMC 2021 admission are the same as that native Indian candidates.

Selection method

Native Indian candidates
The selection of candidates for IIMC 2021 admission is based on their performance in the written test that would be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on 29 August.

The usual procedure is to conduct a written test and shortlist the candidates who have the required score in it.

Shortlisted candidates will have to attend a group discussion and an interview. Sources say, group discussion and interview will not be conducted this year.

NRI candidates/NRI sponsored candidates
They have to directly apply to IIMC by depositing an entry fee of USD 50 and appear for an online interview.

These applicants need not apply through National Testing Agency (NTA).

After pressing ‘IIMC Admissions 2021’ when another webpage with url ‘https://iimc.nta.ac.in/iimcreg2021/Regstep.aspx’ downloads, applicants have to read the registration procedure and click ‘New Registration’ and wait for another webpage to appear.

When another webpage appears, applicants can read the instruction and scroll down and press ‘Proceed to Apply Online IIMC – 2021’ button located below the page and commence registration to obtain username and password.

Post obtaining username and password, applicants can login and start applying for IIMC 2021 admission.

Procedure
After candidates login with help of username and password, they have to fill the required information, upload the needed documents, pay the registration fees and submit the application form.

Registration fee
Applicants from General category must pay Rs 1000 for each course they wish to apply.

The same for applicants from OBC/SC/ST/PwD/EWS categories is Rs 750 for each course they wish to apply.

IIMC 2021 admission

The written test in connection with IIMC 2021 admission will be held on 29 August.

The result announcement is on 10 September and first semester classes will commence tentatively in third week of September.

Entrance Test

Each of the phase will have two hours duration and 100 questions in multiple choice format.

The questions are related to General Knowledge and General Aptitude including a few general questions from the field of Media and Communication.

Questions for Regional Language Journalism will be in respective Regional Language.

Examination schedule
The exam in connection with IIMC 2021 admission for courses other than regional language journalism courses will happen from 10 am to 12 pm on 29 August.

Students seeking to study PG Diploma course in Journalism in regional languages – Odia, Marathi, Malayalam and Urdu will have to write the entrance exam from 2 pm to 4 pm on 29 August.
