Education sector: Great Ktka CET results on 20 Aug, HRD Min name change
Education sector in India has witnessed lot of development in the recent times.
Amongst the worth noting developments with regards to Education sector has taken place in Karnataka.
However, the fees and seat matrix ratio will remain the same as it was in the previous year, say sources. The developments related to Education sector in Karnataka do not end there.
Sources further say, there will be two types of fee composition. While the fee amount for CET students has been fixed at Rs 65,360, the same for COMED-K students will be fixed at Rs 1,43,748.
As per another composition, for CET students the fee will be Rs 58,808 and the same of COMED-K students will be Rs 2,01,960.
Out of the amount obtained, government will receive 45 percent, the share would of COMED-K would be 30 percent and NRIs/Management quota would be given 25 percent, say sources who track the developments related to Education sector.
The counselling process will be done before the end of October, sources staying tuned to developments in Education sector of Karnataka said the students can take up counselling from their place of stay.
The management of the colleges must return seats remaining vacant within the prescribed time. These will be given back to colleges within a duration of a day.
The CET counselling will be conducted after NEET and JEE counselling.
Nod obtained from the President
The another development with regards to Education sector in India is the likely change of name of Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Sources from Education sector in this country said President of India has given his nod towards change of name of Ministry of Human Resource Development to Ministry of Education.
The change of name of the Union HRD Ministry was one of the key recommendations of draft new National Education Policy (NEP).
Sources that track developments in Education sector across the nation said a gazette notification published on the night of Monday had mentioned that President had given his nod to changing the name of HRD Ministry to Education Ministry.
It is worth noting that HRD Ministry was once called Education Ministry, sources familiar with the past of Education sector said Education Ministry was renamed as HRD Ministry in 1985 under the Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The first HRD Minister was P.V. Narasimha Rao in the Rajiv Gandhi cabinet. A panel was formed in the recent past under the leadership of K. Kasturirangan to work on New Education Policy.
Not only that, even Ram Bahadur Rai, chairman of Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts is also said to have given the idea of changing the name of HRD Ministry in 2018.
UPSC releases calendar of 2021
It is not only education sector, but also the competitive exam sector has witnessed considerable developments.
Union Public Service Commission has released the examination schedule for the year 2020-21.
As per this notification, announcement for Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination 2021 will be issued on 7 October this year and last date for the submission of application will be 27 October and exam will be held on 21 February next year.
As for the well-known Civil Services 2021 exam is concerned, the notification will be out on 10 February, last date to apply for the exam will be 2 March and the exam will be on 27 June.
