Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SASTRA deemed-to-be University to develop deep domain expertise that will further enhance the skill of the workforce in the field of electronics design and manufacturing in collaboration with Asia University and Yuan Ze University.
Sources keeping track of latest developments with regards to education news say, according to this agreement, students admitted to the two-year M.Tech degree in Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) design will complete one year of the course at SASTRA campus in Thanjavur and the second year in either Asia University or Yuan Ze University in Taiwan.

The second-year curriculum will include practical experience in major lab facilities, a six-month industry internship in Taiwan’s advanced semiconductor manufacturing industry and basic Chinese language skills.
TEPL will work closely with SASTRA University to co-create the course curriculum and will provide financial support for overseas education and training of these students.
Dr. S. Vaidhyasubramaniam, Vice-Chancellor of SASTRA said this two-year comprehensive course in electronics shall develop talent and deep domain expertise which is necessary for India’s growing semi-conductor industry.
Mr. Ranjan Bandyopadhyay, Head (Human Resources) at TEPL said India has a critical role to play as the shift in economics of global manufacturing, especially in areas like electronic manufacturing, gathers momentum.
Our collaboration with SASTRA University is an endeavour to ensure the human capital is industry-ready for this emerging opportunity, said Mr. Ranjan.
We are committed to expanding our work with the domestic academic ecosystem and leading universities like SASTRA to ensure that the country realises its true potential in this field, he said.
This collaboration with TEPL and SASTRA in electronics design and manufacturing is in an area that promises tremendous growth and will also strengthen the partnership between India and Taiwan in the future,” said Professor Wen-Thong Scott Chang.
Professor Wen Thong is Distinguished Professor and Chairman of the Computer Science and Information Engineering Department, Asia University.
Professor Ching Pu Chen, Chief of Global Affairs of Yuang Ze University said this collaboration with TEPL and SASTRA has not only broadened the international outlook for Yuang Ze but has also added a globally reputed industry partner to this bilateral effort.
Professor V. Kamakoti, Professor of Computer Science at IIT Madras and NSAB Member who is also the Advisor to SASTRA for this Indo-Taiwan collaboration said SASTRA and TEPL have made a very strategic collaboration at a time when India’s electronic design and manufacturing industry is poised for a tremendous growth.
SRM University Amaravati
SRM University at Andhra Pradesh has been centre of attraction its students Saptarshi and Rajarshi Majumdar received a pay pack of Rs 50 lakhs per annum each with PVP Inc.

IIM Calcutta

Professor Thakur graciously accepted the proposal. This donation of a life-saving device reiterates Institute-alumni relations, said Professor Manish Thakur.
Such generous gestures on behalf of our alumni is an affirmation of the emotional connection that they have with their alma mater, he said.
CLAT 2021
There is some worth noting development as far as education news is concerned.
Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the latest list of exam centres for CLAT exam.
CLAT exam is for candidates who wish to seek admission into law courses in national law universities.
Sources familiar with latest education news say, Amarawati of Maharashtra, Chittoor of Andhra Pradesh, Cuttak, Gwalior, Hubli of Karnataka are among the exam centres newly added.
CLAT exam for this year will happen on July 23 from 2 to 4 pm. Also, candidates can now change their choice of exam centres.
The last date to change the exam centre and choose a new one is July 4.
More number of exam centres will help follow social distancing and allow more students to write the exam with occupancy per exam room being less.
