Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will visit Singapore and Australia between October 20 and 26, 2024, to further bilateral cooperation in the education sector. During the visit, ways and means for further collaboration, engagement, and synergy on key areas of mutual interest in education will be explored.
Dharmendra Pradhan will visit Singapore and Australia
The minister will interact with the Indian diaspora during his two-day trip to Singapore, scheduled for October 20, 2024. He will also meet key leaders: Lawrence Wong, Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance and Trade and Industry; Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Education; and Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Pradhan will visit the National University of Singapore and a local secondary school focused on integrating AI into the curriculum. He will also meet with academics and alumni of IITs and IIMs in the country to discuss educational collaboration between the two countries.
The Australian Minister for Education, Melbourne, will meet Pradhan on 23rd October. He will deliver the plenary speech at the Australian International Education Conference. He will also meet senior academics of Indian origin there in Melbourne.
Touch upon the partnership in early childhood education
On 24 October, Pradhan will address the Auburn Long Day Child Care Centre in Sydney over possible collaborative opportunities in early childhood education. He will then meet with the Innovative Research University (IRU) officials and attend the 2nd Australia-India Education and Skills Council meeting.
On October 25, 2024, he will visit the Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School and the Macquarie Park Innovation District (MPID), where more than 180 multinational companies are based and are applying research in telecommunications, digital industries, medical technology, and pharmaceuticals for commercialization.
He will also interact with Indian research students affiliated with the eight universities in Australia. He will also visit the UNSW Energy Institute and the Trailblazer for Recycling and Clean Energy (TraCE) at the Tyree Energy Technologies building in Kensington to see practical research applications with commercial significance. He will also explore opportunities for collaboration in sports education and research at the UTS Moore Park Sports and Exercise Precinct, an ultimate facility for teaching, research, and sports.
