CTET Exam 2020: The great exam to be postponed or conducted?
CTET Exam 2020 has now become the talk of the town. And discussions are doing rounds as to whether the exam will be conducted on time mentioned earlier or not.
CTET also known as Central Teacher Eligibility Test is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education. This exam is conducted twice every year to determine the eligibility of candidates to recruit them as teachers for primary and upper primary sections.
Using the certificate candidates can apply for teachers jobs in schools located across the country. According to a notice by CBSE, CTET Exam 2020 will be conducted on 5 July.
CTET Exam 2020 will be held across 112 cities in Chennai and in 20 languages, said the notification. The registration for CTET Exam 2020 began on 24 January and went on till 24 February.
While a few sections have already begun talking about CTET Exam 2020 being postponed there are many others who are not sure about it.
M. Suresh Kumar, an aspirant of CTET said the talk about postponement of CTET Exam 2020 is only natural. Outbreak of corona virus has led to postponement of many popular exams.
It is only natural for people to consider even this exam as postponed, he says. Treading on the sameline is another CTET aspirant.
A.S. Mohan Kumar. It is very difficult to say anything as of now. Let us not forget, that attempts towards unlocking the economy are being made currently, sooner or later commencement of academics will also be made.
He quickly reminds that so far no official notification has yet been made with regards to postponement of CTET Exam 2020.
Equally skeptical is S. Rajanarayanan, an employee in a general store and also a CTET Exam 2020 aspirant. The atmosphere still appears not conducive to conduct CTET Exam 2020.
Corona virus outbreak is the reason behind this. While we are moving towards unlock, still we have not managed to ensure ourselves that we are safe. So authorities may consider postponing, he said.
Agreeing with him are couple of others. At the moment there is a need for social distancing to ensure the spread (corona virus) gets a pullstop.
For this to happen more exam centres need to be established for conducting CTET Exam-2020. To do this authorities concerned may need time and to have time the exam may be postponed.
Couple of others are citing another point of view. The exam getting postponed or not depends on the lockdown.
If lockdown ends with the month of June, there could be some time left and owing to which possibility of conducting CTET Exam 2020 on the earlier decided date still exists.
However, certain others still see the possibility of CTET Exam 2020 being postponed. July will be the month where pending CBSE Exams will also be conducted.
As per the earlier schedule, CTET Exam 2020 will happen on 5 July, said T.R. Govindaraj, a social science teacher.
CBSE board exam for pending subjects will take place from 1 to 15 July, conducting both exams at the sametime may be difficult as it may not be possible to get enough manpower, exam centres to conduct both at the sametime under the present circumstances, said Govindaraj.
Therefore CTET Exam 2020 postponement may be considered, he said.
