CBSE Exam status 2020: Decision on great exams to be out by next week
CBSE Exam status, revised decision with regards to CBSE board exams and also the competitive exams is likely to be made public by early next week.
Union Ministry of Human Resource Development will announce its new decisions regarding CBSE Exam status with regards to the pending 10th and 12th class examinations.
Exams of CBSE for 10th and 12th class began as usual this year also much like the pevious years. However, this time the things did not remain smooth much like the previous years.
CBSE Exam status remained postponed soon after it began as per the usual schedule this year. Protests noticed over CAA had led to postponement of the exams.
New schedules were announced and exams began after the protests subsided. But outbreak of corona virus put CBSE Exam status as cancelled.
The safety of students was given a higher importance, hence CBSE Exam status remained cancelled for the second time.
Lateron Union Minister for HRD Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ announced CBSE Exam status. He said the pending exams for 10th and 12th classes will be conducted from 1 to 15 July.
Minister also said JEE Mains will be conducted in 18 to 20 July and NEET will be held on 26 July. While CBSE Exam status was made known after a longtime along with that of JEE Mains and NEET, not many are happy.
Many parents feel the situation has not yet improved for students to come out with confidence to write the exam.
CBSE Exam status as of now still remains the same, but could likely change after Union HRD Ministry makes its decision public.
Discussions with Union Home Ministry and Health Ministry are being held with regards to the prospects of conducting exams. As of now parents and teachers are evoking mixed reactions to the CBSE Exam status.
T. Sathyanarayanan, an engineer in a private firm feels the situation is not ripe now for conducting exams for we are not sure of safety amidst a situation where corona virus has not yet subsided.
Giving out another point is Saumya Rajendran, a Maths teacher at a private school. CBSE Exam status can remain cancelled.
Students from normal localities can write the exam, those coming from the containment zones may not be able to. So CBSE Exam status better remain cancelled, she says.
However process of conducting the exam twice is easier said than done, says S. Manoharan, another school teacher.
It is not parents alone who are weary of exams as of now, even states are not for conducting board exams as of now, keeping in view safety of students.
It is worth remembering that Tamil Nadu has cancelled its 10th exams recently and has decided to promote students.
Odhisha, Maharashtra and Delhi have asked the Centre to consider cancelling exams as of now. Supreme Court is said to have asked CBSE to take a decision in this regard.
The biggest puzzle with regards to these competitive education exams is how to conduct these exams amidst a present pandemic.
These competitive exams cannot be considered for cancellation as they are required for those students who dream of making an entry in engineering and medicine fields.
They have to be conducted but the question is as to how will they be held. A clear picture in this regard is also expected to emerge at the earliest.
